However, it didn't come with manuals and was hoping somebody on this blessed list could provide me w/a photocopy of the manual and (if I'm lucky) some pointers as to how to use this beast. I used a d6 for years so I'm not a total dolt, but well, this thing is so......weird lookin'. ------------------------------ From: "Ian Stone" Subject: ISO: WALT! i have something of yours Date: Mon, 8 Sep 2003 21:17:47 -0700 Walt, Please contact me off list. Here in Montreal I just bought for CDN $112.- after taxes 3x50 Fujis on spindle on promo. This tallies very nicely with below. Ordering from those few USA mail-order houses which will ship to Canada has resulted in no economy either after transportation was included. If anyone reading this can offer Japan-made CDRs for substantially less, I'm interested in a case. Vendors? Steve >>All we're asking for is the cost of a decent blank CD in Toronto which >>is about CDN$0.75 a piece after taxes. That's about US$0.53 at the >>current exchange rates. >if people want to unload a bunch of discs and just get $$ to recoup the cost of >blanks, they should then offer in return for blanks and not $200 + ,, must be pricey >in toronto, i haven't paid that >much for blanks in years,, ------------------------------ From: Mexminute@aol.com Subject: Warren Zevon Trades Date: Tue, 09 Sep 2003 09:30:03 -0400 Anybody up for trading Warren shows? Seems like 'the future' and i am already saving the money, but i wonder if anyone has some expierence yet. I still haven't got a clue on what PDA to look for. Since i am only intrested in using them for taping i am hoping to find one second-hand. B. _________________________________________________________________ Tired of spam? Pocco Software (Wichita) recommends the iPAQ 3800, 3900's and 5450, 5550's for CF compatible storage. They don't recommend the 3{8,9}00 for SD, it's too slow; but Toshiba e750 is OK. (I see the problem being that the SD cards are too small, only 512MB listed on PriceWatch, so even CD won't fit.) I hope to have everything in a week or so. My guess is that the 5550 or 5555 (I don't know what the difference is) is probably best, but the 3870 has some really nice features (2 CF cards so no adapter needed, maybe; but it would need a bigger battery, and has no backlight. It's also much cheaper.) I've suggested to Pocco that they implement lossless compression (e.g. .flac), so that more fits; but I don't know whether the CPU is fast enough. He >charged me $10 for his time but it was well worth it. Almost the same situation, except I had a 9 year old borrowed D7 that occassionally gave errors and caught the tape. Usually pulling the batteries and putting them back in took care of it. This time it ate the tape, and it was the very first show I did with my sonic studios mics. I also had a tape that jammed up in a player a few years ago, and after taking it apart and freeing the tape, it turns out the front door was coming off the rest of the tape. This tape was actually a special performance by a now deceased friend. A few months later when I contacted him about fixing the deck he said he could also do the tapes. So I threw those in with the deck and a blank or 2. Anyway got the box back with no tapes. Said they forgot to include them and would send them along. A few more times they said they would pull the tapes and send them. This was a year ago now so I don't really expect to see them. I guess when it comes to equipment I will just take my chances with Sony and Tascam repair. Can't imagine sending any I place the least bit of value in to them ever again. I've been dealing with Paul for almost 10 years now. He's not the cheapest guy around but your gear gets fixed the first time you send it to him and he's about as ethical as one can get in the repair biz. I cannot recommend him enough. CD Cases FS in Greater Toronto Area. Reply-To: adrianf@cuic.ca Date: Tue, 9 Sep 2003 21:41:17 -0400 I'd like to thank everyone for the interest in as well as corrections on a few sources on my list of CDs being removed from my collection. These discs are now spoken for. However, in light of my pending move, I have about 120 single CD cases, about 40 slim-line double CD cases and 5 Quad CD cases available for sale. Most of these cases are in mint condition and would not differ from those bought at a store. The store I buy them at sells them for the prices (plus tax) as follows: Singles: CDN$0.50/each Slim Doubles: CDN$0.70/each Quads: CDN$1.00/each I'm hoping for something around CDN$50.00 for the lot - OR BEST REASONABLE OFFER. Drop me a line if you have a use for these puppies. The counts that I've listed are lower than the actual number. I'm just trying to play it safe. -a ------------------------------ From: andy hopkins Subject: P-Funk Trade Date: Tue, 09 Sep 2003 21:53:46 -0400 Looking for early Parliament/Funkadelic shows in trade.
