I will go on record for all eternity to say that the Apex AD-1500 is a piece
of shit. It works sometimes and whirs loudly as it plays back discs. The Apex
AD-3201 is far better (was; discontinued) because you can dial into the menu
your preferences (region- specific or no region/ macrovision on OR off, etc)
but still it to is not the best unit our there.
