Depending on which sony you have, and what kind of digital card you have you my be able t use them. One of the members of this list, Len made me a 35' tslink cable. If your Sony only has AES/EBU connections, you can probably get a set at most vendors who sell digital audio supplies. I've bought 75 ohm Coax cables, which I think you'd use on all Sony's bigger than a D series at Sam Ash, and I'm sure the online vendors in the group will pop up with their prices. I've also purchased these cable via internet from fullcompass.com, I think they had the best prices I saw. Keith ------------------------------ From: "Don Landis" Subject: Fw: "Selling" a show... Date: Sun, 5 Oct 2003 21:41:44 -0500 I always offer to supply the local artists with a CD-R and it is theirs to do with what they wish. It is their music after all and they are the ones who allow me to record them. Perhaps you can get them to give you a credit on the jacket. That would be fair enough. Don From: Kevin Main Subject: "Selling" a show... Date: Sun, 5 Oct 2003 09:25:39 -0700 (PDT) I recently taped a local band who, after hearing the tape, want to release all or part of the show as a live EP. Has this ever happened to anyone on the list? If so, what kind of arrangements, financial or otherwise, did you make with the band as far as selling or turning your tape over to them? I would like to have some kind of idea how this kind of thing has been handled in the past before I go "negotiate" with them. Date: Mon, 6 Oct 2003 06:40:44 -0700 (PDT) I've done this many times. If they're friends (and they usually are) I don't ask for much because chances are they're making very little money on the CD. I insist on credit and copies. If you think they're gonna make a lot of money, or they're popular enough already, just ask what they think is reasonable. Remember, you never taped the show to make money in the first place. This is icing. Both bands are already OK'd for inclusion in the Live Music Archive, so as soon as you are done transfering your recording, upload the master .shn files to the LMA here: http://www.archive.org/audio/etree.php and make it so people all around the world can download and listen to your recording for free. These are the new ones that are useful for higher bitrate recording, and have a slight hf-emphasis (less than a regular cmc6 used with a 'v' capsule) http://www.schoeps.de/E/cmc6xt.html asking $1120, thats $100 less than you can buy them for anywhere today, and they are brand new with full 2-year warranty. Are there any tools similar to shntool that will work with higher bitrates and sample rates?
