From: Shaun Nicholson <djmatthewsfan@yahoo.com> Subject: gear for sale Reply-To: nicholsm@jmu.edu Date: Tue, 7 Oct 2003 20:40:50 -0700 (PDT) I am getting out of the taping game but still want to keep my mics, stands, and preamp for some home studio work. So, I am selling my two dat decks. Sony D7 - I am the second owner of this great deck. The first owner was another taper. He had the deck for about 100 hours and had it serviced by prodigital before selling it to me. I have taped an additional 15 shows total on it...putting another 25 hours on the heads. It was only used for recording by me...not playback. The deck is missing 2 of the 8 screws on the back plate. This doesn't effect the deck's performance. i'm sure you could buy screws for it at a local hardware store but i've never made the attempt due to laziness. Also, my wall outlet doesn't work but you can buy another one cheaply or just use batteries like I did. I'm asking $250 obo Victor/JVC XD-Z700 - This is an older home unit that I used for playback while converting my dats to CD's. I bought this used from a regular consumer...not a taper....just an audiophile. I would describe the deck as a vintage import. You have to have a voltage transformer for it which i will include of course. The deck has roughly 150 hours on the heads....50 by me and 100 from previous owner. $150 obo. CoreSound 7 pin out cable. $25 If you want both decks and the cable...i'd take $400 plus i'd give you 2 head cleaner tapes, 8 90m blank dats, and any master dats you want. Please contact me with any offers or questions. Shaun ===== ===== Nicholson, Shaun M. nicholsm@jmu.edu My homepage - http://jump.to/djmatthewsfan __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? From: "MattB" <matt@mattb.net> Subject: Re: Does the Motet allow SBD access? Date: Wed, 8 Oct 2003 09:39:58 -0600 I taped them a few years ago and I think they said I could, but didn't recommend it so I ran mics. They use a ton of hand percussion instruments that weren't mic'd in the small bar I saw them in. Maybe if you are seeing them somewhere a little bigger that won't be the case. I don't think they had their own sound guy at the time either. Hope that helps some... From: "Chris" <ctc3m@virginia.edu> Subject: RE: Anyone out there with Snake Oil Medicine Show tapes? Date: Wed, 8 Oct 2003 20:28:45 -0400 Hey everyone i just got my new Nightingale pro 6 and am already having problems ;) All of my shows so far i taped at 48khz, and i set CDWave to record at 48khz, but when i tape a section and play it back it sounds like chipmunks. Is there somewhere else i have to set to 48khz? Or do i transfer it sounding like chipmunks and then sample it down to 44.1 to make it sound normal?(which doesn't seem very likely to me) Any of you that have used this soundcard etc any advice would be very welcome. Oh and i'm transferring over digital with a D8 in winxp. And the music sounds perfect coming out of my speakers. Thanks Chris --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
