I attended her performance at the Consumer Electronics Show in January (the Sirius Radio booth, or maybe it was XM Radio, I can't remember for sure) and she was not exactly thrilled (and said so....repeatedly) at the people taking still and video shots of her, sticking microphones in the air to capture the audio, etc...... ============================== Brian Dipert Technical Editor: Mass Storage, Memory, Multimedia, PC Core Logic and Peripherals, and Programmable Logic EDN Magazine: http://www.edn.com 5000 V Street Sacramento, CA 95817 (916) 454-5242 (voice), (617) 558-4470 (fax) mailto:bdipert@edn.com Visit me at http://www.bdipert.com ------------------------------ From: "Andrew ." Date: Wed, 8 Oct 2003 23:36:21 -0500 Anyone know if Legends in Chicago allows recording? I think they do not if it is a "Buddy" show but what about artists that perform there that have an open taping policy? Specifically I'm wondering about this Saturday 10/11 David Hidalgo/Cesar Rosas/Cougar Estrada acoustic show. let me know. thanks, joe.com ------------------------------ From: "Paul Chrostowski" Subject: FS: Neumann KM184s Date: Thu, 9 Oct 2003 02:28:20 -0400 Hello, I haven't been using these for some time now and would like to see them go to someone that will make use of this great pair of mics. I'm including an extra 2 pairs of windscreens for those windy days and a shockmount. Mics come with all the original accessories and packaging. I purchased these new in July '98 but haven't used them since early '01. They were always babied when out at shows and stored in a humid/smoke free enviroment. If you're interested give this auction a try, I set a pretty low reserve of 750.00 for the mics, etc. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2563916631&category=41466 Take Care, Paul WBT: DTB 10/4/03 HOB, Orlando, FL ------------------------------ From: Per Jakobsen Subject: Recording via line-in on the D8 - noise?] Reply-To: perjak@get2net.dk Date: Thu, 9 Oct 2003 12:47:35 +0200 Hello group, Last Saturday I recorded a folkrock gig with CSB, a homemade emergency batt-box with 10kOhms and 1 microFarads. I followed many peoples advice and used the line-in in stead of the Mic-in. Due to the soundlevel at the venue, I had to turn the level knob fully up, and that gave me meters around -12dB. But the problem is some strange white noise (audible as mono) over both channels at certain parts of the recording e.g. when the crowd is yelling and screaming after each song. Was the level in the room too low? Or is there some other explanation?? Looking forward to hearing from someone who had experienced something similar. Everything is checked for 16/44.1, but still no signal. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
