I have only respect for this man. He sold me the mic I still use today on a weekly basis: AWIA CM30a. He even sent along the manaual in a small laminated case that I still have. God bless this guy.

This news comes as a big shock for me. I've only traded with John for about
three years now, but he has always been a great guy and overly generous with
his recordings. Apart from his genuine goodness as a person, in terms of
his relevance to the trading community I can't think of a single individual
who contributed more of his own recordings into the pool of shows we have
available to us today.
One of the most notable examples of his taping was Derek & the Dominos in
Tampa, 1970, performing "Layla" in the only known recording in existence of
the original formation of the band (ie with special guest Duane Allman).
That recording turned into the "Soulmates" bootleg...I'll spin it tonight in
John's memory. His first attempted taping job was Jimi Hendrix, and John
expressed his regret to me that his gear failed him that night - now he's
getting his second chance to tape Jimi...
May he rest in peace...

Eric Johnson is playing a few solo acoustic shows in Texas. This will be
the first time he will be playing all acoustic guitar and Piano shows. EJ's
management is NOT taper friendly, so you'll have to go incognito. Have
plenty to trade. Any help is greatly appreciated.
