not sure if anyone had posted this to the datheads digest mailing list, but the archive.org/audio is considering moving to mp3 sourced shows on there servers, check out this thread and voice your opinion, as i will not contribute anything more and have my current shows removed if the archive plans on implementing mp3 sourced shows for download, food for thought.

Subject: FT: 9/25 and 9/26 Radiohead ALD recordings
Date: Tue, 21 Oct 2003 01:18:35 -0700 (PDT)
hey
i taped radiohead via ALD at the hollywood bowl on
9/25 and 9/26...9/25 has the 1st song cut in due to
problems w/ security; they wouldn't let some of my
gear/bags into the venue, and by the time i got to my
car and back, radiohead was just taking the stage.
there is also some minor FM-style static on this tape,
but no hum or hiss problems as w/ my '01 recording.
(thanks to some tech advice from 1 or 2 people on this
list.)
9/26 is static free and complete, but the tonal
balance isn't quite as natural as w/ 9/25...i used
more mic gain that night, since the damn in-house ALD
box will only work w/ headphones or a mic-input, (NOT
a line input) plugged directly into its output. i
dunno why. if anyone knows a way around this, other
than buying my own expensive ALD box, please let me
know. overall though, i'm quite happy w/ the
recordings.
my main trade interest is nirvana...if you have
nirvana masters, or a show you think might even
possibly be rare (even if it's a cassette), please get
in touch. at the moment i'm specifically looking for
the D7/CSB recordings of 11/14 and 11/15/93 NYC, in
master-clone form...so if you have those (or any leads
on them) please get in touch.... and yes, i have many
trade interests other than nirvana, so don't hesitate
to send a list...i have limited time at the moment, so
if i don't get back to you about a trade (esp. if end
up inundated w/ offers), please don't take it
personally...these shows will circulate, so don't
worry. thanks for the space.

I'm looking for a left side as you face the deck rack mount for a DA-20
MK II DAT deck. If anyone wouldn't mind parting with one or both if
they aren't using them, I'd appreciate it. I'm willing to pay a
reasonable price.

I am looking for a recording of the S&G show last night in Cleveland.
If anyone may have recorded it (or know of someone who did), please let me
know. I had an offer to see them in Cleveland last night but flying 5000
miles from Alaska was not practical at this time. Let me know, Joe Ray at:

Paul & others who have helped,
A local audio engineer came to the rescue with the parameters of the
original Sony pre-emphasis curve, so I created a reverse curve in Cool Edit
Pro. The results were exactly as needed.
Thanks to everyone for looking into this now-rarely-used setting.

2 channel portable phantom power unit, uses 9-volt battery
Telescoping tripod mic stand, up to 15 feet
T- bar with 2 mic clips
2 XLRfemale to stereo miniplug male to connect to D-8 or the like

I'm asking $575 for the lot or best offer. I'll pay shipping. I'll accept a money order only.

Hello All,
Please forgive the long post, but there are many things going on with this
group of musicians currently!
For those of you interested in this band of gypsies (like George Clintons
stable of talent) there are some great shows coming up starting with this
one:
Nick Oliveri plays a lo fi acoustic evening at the Viper Room
Nick with guests Mark Lanegan, Dave Catching,Chris Goss, & others. Come see
songs from QOTSA , Mondo Generator , & ? ! ! It costs $10.00 at the door and
it happens on OCT. 23rd.
I would think it likely that songs from the new Desert Sessions album will
be played at this show!
Now I know there are lots of tapers in the LA area. I'd appreciate it if
just one (or more) of you would tape this and get in touch. Have plenty to
trade including some ultra rare gems by this group of musicians. Been taping
since 89 and have some good masters!
In addition, Eagles of Death Metal (comprised of other members of this
revolving group of musicians) will be on tour with Placebo starting in
November. If anyone catches any of these shows, the same offer stands.
Thu-Nov-20-Vancouver-Commodore Ballroom
Fri-Nov-21-Seattle-Graceland
Sat-Nov-22-Portland-Crystal Ballroom
Mon-Nov-24-San Francisco-Slims

Tue-Dec-02-Tempe-Marquee Theatre
Thu-Dec-04-Dallas-Trees
Fri-Dec-05-Austin-La Zona Rosa
Sat-Dec-06-New Orleans-House of Blues
Finally, Mondo Generator (Nick Oliveri of QOTSA and friends) is also out on
the road soon. I plan on catching them in Cleveland and would be happy to
offer that up for trade to any interested parties (hopefully on Video!).

see some Pink Wolves shows get circulation (the Pink Wolves is Chris Goss
and a revolving group of gypsies that play Masters of Reality tunes).
Somebody please hook a brother up!!!!

I have been buying fuji cdrs and I have also noticed
that they are now made in Taiwan. But I did find
Maxell cdrs made in Japan at a decent price. Are those
Taiyo-yuden discs?
Also here is my list if anyone wants to trade.
Anything listed as DAT I recorded, except for the Led
Zeppelin stuff.

I recorded Primus 10-19-03 in Phoenix. I thought
they were allowing recorders? Well I had to go
stealth.

I would prefer to use coax over optical, but optical hasn't been ruled out.
