afaik, FUJIFILM is still using some taiyo-yuden manufactured discs, in
addition to the taiwanese crap that they recently started selling
so far all of the new FUJI 100 pack single spindles that i've seen are
taiwanese (probably made by CMC MAGNETICS), but the 50 pack spindles are
still the japanese t-y's (i just bought 3 spindles at BEST BUY)
i'm hoping that FUJI continues to "produce" the t-y sourced discs but i
dunno, perhaps it is just leftover stock that is still being sold off
at least it is EZ to spot the source of the discs on the FUJI
packaging/discs (they say made in japan vs. made in taiwan)

I'll be recording Simon & Garfunkel this weekend, and looking at the
setlist, it looks like a long show. Can anyone tell me if it goes over 3
hours ????

I just found out this morning, while I'm getting ready for work. This is
really going to affect my day. Elliott's music meant so much to me. I'm
going to offer b&p's of the show I taped this year. I'll take as many
people as I get responses from within the next three days. US residents
only, sorry.

hey there , i have a USB DATport by OPCODE.
OPCODE seems to have been bought out by
someone, whom i do not know.....?....but,
I do have an issue, I CAN NOT get it to
work with Win2000 or XP, any help would be
great, even being pointed in the direction a
discusion list about Laptop Taping and such.
just needing to to work, i'm sure some of
you have one of these and are still using it.
Thanx for your time.
Rick.

I find the CDR brand discussion very interesting. Many people swear by the
TY / Japan mfgr'ed ones.
I like to use the Memorex _Music_ CDRs. Normally, these are used for
recorder decks, but work great in
computer drives as well. They used to be more expensive, but now are about
the same or less than other
name brand CDRs. They can be found on sale at Office Max frequently.
They are made in Taiwan, but I have not had any quality problems. The main
reason I use them is b/c they play in
all CD players - new or old. All the other plain CDRs I've used mistrack,
and have problems in older players.
I even bought a CD from a local band that was obviously a CDR, not pressed,
since it was almost unplayable in my existing
car CD changer. I do not have this problem with homemade CDs made from
Memorex Music CDRs.
No, I do not have any stock or interest in Memorex, except that I wanted to
share this with my fellow DAT heads.
