From: Fares Halteh <halteh3@rogers.com> Subject: Audio to Sony Camcorder problem Date: Mon, 3 Nov 2003 12:27:56 -0500 Hey All, I'm running a sony dcr-trv22, the camera comes stock with a built in microphone and a 1/8 input jack labled as "mic in". I'm wondering if there is a way I can run audio into my camera from my external mics. I'm running mk41s > nbox > sbm1 > m1. Ideally I'd like to keep the M1 in the chain and still run audio to my camera. I've tried using the line output from the m1 to the mic input on the camera. However, the audio on my video is not only distorted, but seems to cut out often. The problem here is that I am running a line level output to a very sensitive mic level input. I know some of you tapers out there have pulled off the video with good audio feed in one shot, just wondering how I'd go about doing this. Does the fact that my camera has only a mic input (not line) prevent me from doing this, further will an attenuator help? Will taking the M1 and sbm1 out of the chain help? (this method will remove the line out problem, but won't give me control over levels). I figured that the audio levels that my video picked up would be those that my m1 indicated. Any help is greatly appreciated. --Fares - halteh3 AT rogers.com
From: "Digit" <digit@redwing.net> Subject: DAT deck F/S or F/T Date: Mon, 3 Nov 2003 11:39:35 -0600 Too much unused equipment around here so I thought that I would see if there is anyone interested in a home DAT deck. This is an AIWA XD-001H. I have had this deck for about eight years and it sees only playback use. Two analog in's, one analog out, digital (coax) in and out. Switchable voltage(11/120/220/240). SCMS. Heavy unit! No manuals nor original box but it is pretty self-explanatory. Would make for a nice workhorse play deck. I'd be interested in parting with this for $100 plus shipping to a DAT head or would trade for CDs. I'm close to the Twin Cities if someone local wants it. Thanks!

From: Christian Rodriguez <christianandresrodriguez@yahoo.com.ar> Subject: Old DAT-head WANTED: Tom Chaffin aka The Chapper Date: Mon, 3 Nov 2003 15:20:00 -0800 (PST) That's right. I'm desperately looking for this guy: Tom Chaffin, best known as The Chapper. I did a quick search on the archives and he used to participate on this mailing list. He's from Denver, CO and a big fan and collector of Ween. If you know him, please tell him I have a big offer for him. Or if you have recently contacted him, I'd appreciate if you could pass me on his new e-mail, or at least let him know I need to talk to him. His last account I've managed to track down is: chapper@isw.net which of course rejects my e-mails... You know, the other day someone here wrote a message also looking for a trader and wondering what had happened to him. So I'm feeling a bit paranoid. There should be a site offering a service to track down people who vanish overnight from the web. Not only traders, people in general. Because, you never know. I always wonder, what's with those who suddenly pass away one day. How on Earth can his/her cyber contacts find out what has occured?! Well, I'm beginning to ramble... Just let me know if you know something about this guy, OK? Thanks in advance! Christian __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! The guy who bought my Sony RM-D3K System Adaptor Kit (i.e. portable DAT remote control unit) the first time I posted it on Ebay flaked out.
