From: "Karl Schneider" <karl.p.schneider@rose-hulman.edu> Subject: Matrix Master Date: Sat, 8 Nov 2003 01:32:59 -0500 Could someone enlighten me on making a matrix recording from an audience and soundboard? Software, book, and website recommendations would also be helpful. Thanks. Karl

From: "peggy" <peguine@madbbs.com> Subject: Crowell in Cleveland Date: Sat, 8 Nov 2003 12:06:31 -0500 Did anyone tape Rodney Crowell / Chip Taylor in Cleveland on 11/1? I have a lot of shows to trade for this show. Larry
From: Andrew Pfeiffer <apfeiffe@isr.umich.edu> Subject: RE: iRiver iHP-120 for recording? Date: Sat, 8 Nov 2003 14:34:03 -0500 There was a thread about these for recording on taperssection.com - The main consensus was that there was a file size limit on recording which would necessitate the equivalent of a tape flip quite often... They said that according to the tech support for IRiver, there is no possibility of increasing this limit in firmware updates... Prolly still better off sticking with a NJB3 for now... HTH, Andrew ******** From: rappard@dds.nl Subject: iRiver iHP-120 for recording? Date: Sat, 8 Nov 2003 01:28:24 +0100 (CET) Has anyone ever tried these for recording? I'd like to get one, but reviews so far are mixed: http://reviews.cnet.com/iRiver_iHP_120/4505-6490_7-30571493.html?tag=txt Thanks, Martin BWT: b+p for any CD-R from my spares page (http://www.rappard.dds.nl/music/cdrs/spares.htm)
From: "DCA" <phisher72@earthlink.net> Subject: MD digi out Reply-To: "DCA" <phisher72@earthlink.net> Date: Sat, 8 Nov 2003 17:28:39 -0500 The more available decks that have digi out are the MDS-PC3 (compact), MDS-JB940 (home deck), and the Sony pro series (rack mount - don't remember the model #'s). I got my MDS-PC3 on ebay for about $300.00, the 940s are available once again at www.etronics.com for $380.00. The only other options are Japanese or Euro decks, or older decks that do not support LP2 mode. At one time Pioneer and Kenwood both made MD decks, but not so much anymore, except for car audio. As Matt said, www.minidisc.org has the most comprehensive info., I've looked through all of them there before. Sony is concentrating on the portable market, and refuses to offer digital upload via NETMD (USB interface). Dave >In your words: you're all wet. None of the current consumer portable MD >decks have digital out. Only digital in. If you want digital transfers from >MD you have to get a separate deck with digital output (which are pretty >uncommon these days). Try eBay and look at the specs for any deck you find >at www.minidisc.org before believing seller's claims. >Matt | ------------------------------ | | From: Diane Miller <dmiller91@mailbag.com> | Subject: digital cables? | Date: Wed, 05 Nov 2003 21:54:19 -0600 | | --=======1B1CE3B======= | Content-Type: text/plain; x-avg-checked=avg-ok-39452A32; charset=us-ascii; format=flowed | Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit | | Hi, I've been a DAT taper for years, but went cheap for a quick portable, | Sony MD.
