feel about taping if any of you know.
Thanks

Jim,
It was probably not the batteries. Something conductive must have shorted
the terminals that were in your bag / case with them.
When that happens, the batteries are shorted, so there is no current
limiting, causing the batteries to heat up, get damaged, and possibly
explode. This has been discussed by many members of the list. You aren't
the only one. But this can happen with any battery / battery pack. If my
batteries aren't loaded, I always keep them in plastic battery cases to
prevent this.

Well with my taping schedule slowing down to a crawl it just makes more =
sense for me to have a little cash in pocket than to hold on to this.=20
I am the original owner and have the original box although I believe the =
manual has vanished but you can download a copy for free off of Apogee's =
website. I bough the unit in October of 2002 from SonicSense and it has =
seen moderate use since then.=20
The unit is a Rev C and will run off of either 6v or 12v. It has =
internal gain jumpers which I set to low gain as soon as I recieved it. =
The unit is excellent condition... no scratches, dings or dents. There =
is a WSP "Satisfied" sticker on the bottom of the unit but that can =
easily be removed. When the unit wasn't being used it sat in it's black =
padded Apogee case and in my closet. It looks brand new.=20
So here's what's included...
Apogee Mini-Me with USB
4 Pin XLR 12v power cable
4 Pin XLR 6v power cable
Padded black Apogee case
AC power supply
I'd like $950 or, preferrably, I'd like to trade for a mod-sbm-1 and =
cash ($400).=20
I can do PayPal

battery mishaps do happen...
this past summer, i was checking levels at the start of a show, and
noticed that my deck had died, less than 5 minutes in.
couldn't get it to restart, and i could smell that odor of burning
plastic...
popped open the door on my M1 and out slid to smoking batteries...burned
the palm of my hand a bit...dropped them to the floor about as fast as i
could and prayed that the folks around me weren't too disturbed by the
smell or the noise (i was stealthing a gospel show at the time...i
figured it was appropriate to pray!).
somehow the NiMH rechargeables developed an internal short and
self-destructed; sent the pair back to the manufacturer with a note of
explanation and they sent me four new cells in return!
the latest snafu that I need to untangle is a flaky VAIO
battery...according to the power management tools on my lapop, the
battery has plenty of charge, but the stupid thing shuts down (without
warning) once the charge drops below 70-80% of capacity. Anyone have any
suggestions about reconditioning the cell?
