Okay, I'll grovel too. I read about Colvin/Griffin/Williams/Carpenter on
this list and a) I can't even find it on pollstar, which means it probably
isn't coming anywhere near me, and b) is there anyone so kind as to trade
for blanks? I don't have dat>>dat capability for trades, and don't have
anything very fabulous to trade, but it would mean so much to me to get a
(any) copy of one of these shows!

Dudes,
As I haven't kept up on reading my DAT-Heads digests lately, I may have
missed this topic. But I'm wondering what's up for solid state recorders
these days. I've looked briefly at the Fostex, Marantz, and Denon units,
and to me the Fostex looks the most capable (and expensive!) Is anyone
using any of these yet? I'd like to get something that supports 24/96,
which the fostex does.... but is there any word on the "upgradability" of
the other units? Suggestions? Comments? Thoughts?

Just to let everyone know, I was going to pick some of these up but
noticed that they were no longer made in Japan, which means they are no
longer TY brand cdrs. Be careful!

Download the incredibly useful and FREE Soundhack by Tom Erbe
(http://soundhack.com/) and use its spectral dynamics function to
reduce hiss. It works magic with minimal damage to the original
audio. E-mail if you need specific instructions

Personally, I like the Core Sounds PDAudio-CF. It handles 24/96, and
even with all necessary equipment, costs less than purpose-built
machines.

the 50 pack fuji's in my local best buy were made in Japan. the 100's were
made in Taiwan. check the wrap.
