I taped them on 10/29 (140's>M2>M1), turned out pretty nice except for a couple of seconds when my M1 was jarred. Also looking for Psychedelic Furs from 2003. If anyone's interested email me privately. Nelson" Subject: 7 pin oade cable for sale Date: Tue, 9 Dec 2003 20:17:00 -0500 Also I have for sale the world famous Oade cable (passive version) with the 7-pin plug needed to patch out of a Sony D7/D8/M1. I paid $125 for the cable 2 years ago and have not used it a single time. I am looking to get $100 for the cable and will throw in a free 2 foot long gold plated coaxial cable to sweeten the deal. Email me for any further questions/details or if you would like a picture of said cable emailed to you. Thanks, Eric ------------------------------ From: "BB" Subject: FS: Earthworks SR77s stereo matched pair + extras $750 shipped Date: Tue, 9 Dec 2003 19:48:41 -0600 I have a pair of Earthworks SR77s I bought from Sonic Sense new. They have been well cared for, and have been stored in the plexiglass tubes that many Earthworks come with. Also included are the original Earthworks Windscreens and clips in their respective tubes, all documentation, and I'll also throw in one pair of the purple Audio Magix x-Stream cables. I damaged them slightly at some point as one of the rubber boots around the cable melted a bit. No damage was done to the actual cables or connectors, however, and they continue to perform flawlessly. I'm asking $750 shipped or best offer. Pics upon request. Bill Burge bb@zemudaville.com ------------------------------ From: mike lyons Subject: FS - Tascam DA-P1 Date: Tue, 9 Dec 2003 17:53:57 -0800 (PST) I have a DA-P1 dat recorder with a exterior battery setup (a SLA battery - looks like a motorcycle battery) for sale. Before I put it on Ebay, I'll list it here. The unit is in good condition - but I'm not sure how many total hours are on the heads - I purchased it used & then I used it to record 5 to 10 shows a year for 4 or 5 years. I'm no longer actively taping. Original box, manual, soft case & internal battery (but I don't think it holds a charge anymore - I haven't used it in years). I'd like $800 postage paid by me. I'm in southern CT & I can arrange to show it in the tri-state area. Pictures available on request. I can take credit cards through paypal. Thanks for the bandwidth, Mike BWT - copies of Lyle Lovett's 11/13/03 Roanoke Va show (sorry no source info) to the first three who ask. ===== __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? When I look at the mixer in the manual it has diagnose button but mine doesn't seem to. Is this because I'm using XP? Anyone else using XP with this card know how I might be able to analyse the SPDIF IN signal so the terrible screeching stops? Chris --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Reply-to: g@hoxnet.com Date: Tue, 9 Dec 2003 23:53:32 -0800 For all LA area new music fans-- Nels Cline will be playing with his band, the Blue Mitt Ensemble, at LA's newest "new jazz" scene in Culver City, "Club Tropical" at 8641 Washington Blvd (it's the purple building on the corner). Every Thursday night this club has been putting on some great music. Generally, one band plays two sets starting at 8pm (music starts about 8:15). $10/$5 /w student ID. It's a very low-key scene with the taping section in the front row. The restaurant serves good El Salvadoran food for under $10. The Blue Mitt Ensemble plays composed/improvised eclectic jazz guitar pieces with Nels' brother Alex Cline on drums. Three guitarists and electric cello round out the lineup. Check out: www.cryptonight.com for schedule information or to be added to the mailing list. It's all ages & full bar! --Gary ------------------------------ From: "Gary Davis" Subject: KROQ "not" acoustic xmas this weekend Reply-to: g@hoxnet.com Date: Wed, 10 Dec 2003 00:09:19 -0800 For fans of tightly compressed, highly censored live hard rock on the radio, don't forget that this weekend: Sat/Sun, KROQ-Los Angeles presents their "Almost Acoustic Xmas" starting at 5pm (or 6pm)? and possibly broadcast/also webcast. The bands this year are almost uniformly of the "Nu Metal" genre, with the only band that rises to classic status - IMO - being Jane's Addiction playing Sunday night (and not even as headliner). I suppose one could argue that Jane's Addiction *was* the original "nu metal" band (but I wish you wouldn't). http://www.kroq.com for more info. --Gary ------------------------------ From: "A. Anyone know of an affordable DVD-A software solution for OSX? I have recently crossed over to the DVD side of the universe... So, I am in the process of transferring all my 16/48 FOB DAT masters to DVD-Audio. Have access to Disc Welder for the PC, but would prefer to use my PowerMac G5 running Nuendo & DVD Studio Pro 2, instead. Sonic Solutions is too pricey at $9,000 - Ouch! As I begin these conversions, I no longer have need for ALL my CDR backups which take up too much room on my shelves. Looking to trade CDR masters for blank high-quality (4x)DVD-R media. Email me for an extensive list of mostly uncirculated FOB's I will have available. BWT: Anyone out there tape/have recent Shakti performances? Just recieved the following clone from my buddy... Can't possibly imagine anything out there that sounds better, but would still love to hear some other crispy sources. ================================================================= Also, I see all these recent posts referring to various "CDR" discussion/drama... It's evident that most of the true DAT-heads have migrated elsewhere. Anyone know of where I can converse with other DVD-A/R traders?
