I just wanted to wish the group a healthy, happy & safe holiday season. Make sure you hug those in your life you love.....especially your children (if you have them).
Best Regards,
Mitchell

Anyone know if there'll be taping at the TJ Kirk re-union gig, this
Friday and Saturday at the Great American Music Hall, San Francisco? I
know it used to be easy to tape TJ Kirk, but I'm wondering if this
weekend's gigs will be open or not?
If you're planning on bringing mics, I'd love to pre-arrange a patch.
thanks, and have a yule that's cool,
-- Mike

Hello all, I have a D8 for sale that has been completely reworked from head
to toe by Sony, brand new heads, brand new board, with a brand new 7 pin for
sale, I even have a battery cable and 6v battery for it and it is ready to
go out the door and straight to Miami for patching, or wherever else
patching might be happening!! I am looking to get $500 for this (the 7 pin
cost me $150 just a month ago!), Thanks, aloha,
John C. Crouch

You can look it as stealing if you want. And you can call this
rationalization or hypocrisy. But as a matter of copyright law, as
long as you don't sell the item, you haven't done anything wrong.
Sure, many of the venues prohibit taping (as do some bands) but what
they are really doing is trying to prevent someone from making money
that might otherwise go to the band. If you are living right as a
taper, you are not making that possible.
I try to ask artists for an OK in every situation, but it's not
always possible. (I'm usually in small clubs seeking a soundboard
patch, so it's rather mandatory that the artist OK it). But the
downside would be -- I suppose -- that some tapers don't buy a band's
official releases because they own so many tapes? Except we all know
that's not true. Most of us put more money in the bands' pockets than
non-tapers.
So you can live by the letter of the law, or the spirit of it. I
think responsible tapers honor the spirit.

And I've got a Built to Spill show that you can repair for me too. I
agree with Phil ... oversaturation during recording leaves you with a
useless DAT. The low end obscures some of the signal you want to
retain. There's no way to recover it, and I've tried ProTools and
just about everything else. Best to go with the filter.
