Reply-To: justushw@comcast.net Date: Sat, 27 Dec 2003 12:48:32 -0600 Dear listmates - What brand/model of DAT player is more likely to be reliable when I am purchasing a used unit? I had considered a single well, also the Tascam DA-302 dual well, but don't know what to buy. Thank you. Vicki in Illinois

Be > prepared to go stealth. > I don't know if the GAMH owner knows about it, but you need to inform the GAMH owner and the band(s) that played that night that this shit is going on. I'd also let EVERY band playing there know that GAMH sells sbd access for $500. You might even want to drop a line to some of the record labels. A few big acts that book the Fillmore instead of GAMH might "change some minds" or "get some people fired". Clubs with strict rules against taping are one thing, but profiteering from tapers is downright evil. Kenneth
From: Matthew Thayer <mattt317@yahoo.com> Subject: My Favorite Shows of the Year 2003 Date: Sat, 27 Dec 2003 13:49:40 -0800 (PST) Thanks to all the wonderful shows I received from you guys over the year from all over the world!!! Anyone else have a TOP list for 2003????? top quality shows received, top equipment, top shows your attended????? Bring it on..... come on!!! we're not only about cheap Taiwanese CDR's and software stealing !!!! My Favorite Shows 2003.... As the year went by....... in San Francisco, CA 1. Ben Folds - Fillmore - March 25th - a fun piano playin man.... jams like Billy Joel and Elton John.... am I wrong ? .... not to be confused with Jason Mraz, and Jack Johnson.... who performed uninspired album cut sets this year. 2. White Stripes - Warfield - April 29th - Jack was playing to Renee, who was 3 feet away from me on the steps to the floor.... great live act up close, who else jumps up on the drum kit and gyrates for his kid sister while his movie star girlfriend looks on.... hum..... gotta party hard to get the most from the Stripes. 3. Tracy Chapman - Fillmore - June 4th - Just remember it was a fun night of old tunes I hadn't heard in awhile.... but she refused to sign her poster for the Bill Graham Foundation charity raffle..... 4. Buzzcocks - Fillmore - June 8th - The origins of punk rock bring out a weird crowd.... to say the least, but the middle aged guys rip up a great set of music.... hopefully this tour inspired some of the kids today... (3 Doors Down.... come on.....what a load of crap... ) 5. Blonde Redhead / Buffalo Daughter - Fillmore - June 25th - Fun alternative music Japanese style....on the best sound system in San Francisco. 6. Santana - Concord Pavilion - July 11th - Clear Channel has turned the venue into a boring, advertising circus... what a shame... Carlos though decides to donate the proceeds of the show to fighting AIDS in Africa.... or at least that's how I remember it... 7. Norah Jones - Fillmore - August 1st - Yes, great singer, band, fun unexpected night! 8. Grandaddy - Sept 17th - Fillmore - Finally, one of my favorite bands headlines the best club in the world! 9. Willie Nelson -- Hardly Strictly Bluegrass - October 4th - Blue Sky's indeed, Willie pushed back the fog for a sunny set of classics, endorsed for Governor by the crowd , and smiles all around! What a day!!!! 10. Emmy Lou Harris -- Hardly Strictly Bluegrass - October 4th - Emmy Lou brings along Spyboy for another wonderful and inspiring afternoon of music. 11. Lisa Marie Presley- Fillmore - October 14th - What the #@$%^^! .... She had the balls to do it! ..... The daughter of the King, finally ..... in front of a house that was way less than half full...give her props! Don't remember much of the music, but she entered the venue with her Mom like royalty on the red carpet and had a confetti launch/balloon drop during her encore! 12. Gotan Project - Fillmore - October 17th - Tango and turntables.... an irresistible dance floor mix European stylee...... 13. Spearhead - Amoeba Records and The Warfield - November 5th - A stripped down acoustic instore set followed by a full on 3 hour non-stop set at the Warfield ..... who does he this he is ??...George Clinton : ) .... Michael Franti is the man..... if he comes to your side of the world, goes see him perform, for a reality check..... Power to the Peaceful !!! 14. Damien Rice - Fillmore - November 23rd - Last but not least - A singer/songwriter who played cafe's six months ago, breaks it big and sell outs out the Fillmore. Damien brought out the best packed crowd I've hung out since Bryan Adams fans last year.... fun, talkative ( before the music started) and excited to be there ... but not as excited as the band on stage... must be a cloud 9 year for these guys..... plus they got a poster! The show I missed but wish I didn't Liz Phair - Missed this extraordinary performer 3 times!!!!! ... thanks for all who taped her set this year..... Peaceful Taping in 2004 Cheers, Matt Thayer List http://www.bootleglists.com/lists/mattt317/mattt317.html __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? New Yahoo!
