I hope everyone has an excellent new year in 2004.
If there are any tapers out there who can catch these shows, I'd be

i did the same move from 98se to win2kpro, i was too cheap to buy another card so i just keep an install of win98se on my machine, only time i boot to it is when i do the transfer, once i have it i run all else through 2000,, seems a bit stupid, but it works, if a better option to get the dio2448 working on win2k i'd also love to hear it,

Hello Again,
Chris Whitley is the most original artist out there. If you have not heard
of him, pick up one of his cds or go to his shows when he's in your town. He
is an amazing Singer/songwriter/guitarist who plays a mix between Rock,
Delta Blues, and sort of Techno dance music. If there is anyone in these
areas who can tape him, please go to a show. He allows recordings, audience
and SBD hookups. Just get there early and talk to the sound guys. They might
ask for your name and address and for a copy of the show but that's it. They
are extremely cool. Please go and record him, you will not be disappointed.

Eagle-Eye Cherry is touring Europe in Jan / Feb 2004. If any of you europe
tapers are able to go see him play and tape, I would be forever thankful and
would spread that recording around the USA many times. There is virtually no
live shows of his around, and his music is great with a voice that strangely
resembles Ben Harper. If you tape, i'd gladly send you whatever you'd like
off my list: http://db.etree.org/tyler_in_SD and i have a few uncirculating
gems from the listed artists that I'd be happy to share with you if you can
get me a nice sounding recording of the show.
thanks a lot! And feel free to ask my way as well. the street goes in both
directions ... if your favorite belgium death-metal band is playing san
diego, i'd be happy to tape and send it to you. Whatever floats your boat.

Subject: Repairing Damaged Optical Cable?

Hello, all. I have a Sony POC-DA12 that I bought from
someone on the Internet a bit less than two years ago,
and I've just been able to try it out over this past
week. Turns out it's damaged--makes all sorts of
static noises when the cable near the pin housing is
touched. The sound is not even there most of the
time, and when it is, it's terrible. I never removed
it from the packaging it was sent to me in until last
week, so I know it arrived to me damaged.
I'm having a bit of difficulty finding another one to
replace it (not to mention still smarting over the
monetary loss of buying this one in the first place).
My questions are:
1) Can I repair this cable myself?
and
2) Anyone know of a source for another one--a company,
not an individual?
