Has anyone else teste= d feeding a JB3 other word lengths and/or sample rates? Will the thing take 192k/24-bit input? (We can't A>D at those lofty rates) Is the 3-hour file size limitation affected by varying input type? I, for one, would love to hear some results..." fwiw, the nomad can not record 24bit. wont do it. you cant "trick it" into doing it either. You can record 16/96k, i've heard from those who tested it thoroughly. it just misrepresents the file header or something. its been tested and re-tested at least 500 times by tons of folks. ------------------------------ From: "Ed Buckel" Subject: RE: New MD Format: Who Cares? Date: Mon, 12 Jan 2004 12:08:13 -0500 for those of you who are saying the njb3 is too big to stealth and are showing interest in the new md format, you might want to check out the Archos Gmini instead. It does digital recording thru SPDIF and can record unlimited size wav files. Its still new, and needs many more tests, but it does have levels and the battery has lasted over 4 hours so far. I don't own this yet, this is just what i've read on different boards. ed ------------------------------ From: JBABC0CK@aol.com Subject: ISO current David Bowie shows Date: Mon, 12 Jan 2004 13:46:04 -0500 Just a quick post. Bowie's "A Reality" Tour is creeping it's way across the US right now. Ticket price is the most expensive I've seen for any of his tours, but it's a great show he's packing. So far he's had 51 different songs in the rotation (no, not all at the same show!). It's a year-long world tour but the USA dates are sparse and almost over. http://www.algonet.se/~bassman/tour/index.html I'd love to trade with anyone that can get tapes from the current US tour and I'm always looking for anyone who taped the 1997 tour. That said, watch out for those screaming "girls" that invariably end up next to you when you stealth! WAYYY too many of them on this go-round. Quite a few of the shows are in those giant arenas that I can never find the "sweet spot" in, but there are a lot of great-sounding theatres in the list, too. Drop me a line if you get a chance to tape! jb ------------------------------ From: GnPhsn2@aol.com Subject: ISO: Sonicase Date: Mon, 12 Jan 2004 14:19:28 -0500 Looking to purchase a sonicase. It's a really great audience recording & I'm wondering if anyone out there has a complete copy. There seems to be some question as to whether it's from the 22nd or 23rd because he did play both nights. All the info I've found suggests it could be either or a compilation. If anyone out there has it on CD or DAT I'd appreciate getting this show in it's entirety. My setlist is as follows: All this time Jeremiah blues (part 1) Ain't no sunshine Why should I cry for you Roxanne King of pain Fortress around your heart The wild wild sea The soul cages When the angels fall Purple haze Tea in the Sahara/ Walking on the moon Message in a bottle Fragile My list is below. Date: Tue, 13 Jan 2004 09:36:58 -0600 (CST) Hey all, Does anyone out there use the Alesis Masterlink at all? I'm having issues and could use some help. I go to the unit via this route: TCD-D7 -> Sony 7 pin adapter -> Coax out from adapter -> Digital In (Coax) to the unit. Everything is all well and good until I try to burn a disc and when the image get rendered and the disc is burned you can hear a difference in pitch between what is on the tape and what gets put down on the CD. Most notably when people are talking. It sounds a little bit like when you inhale helium. Am I missing something here? Am I not doing something right as far as the sampling indicator goes on the front of the unit? Any help would be greatly appreciated. One other thing... does anybody have the address for wherever you can get the 100 unbranded Taiyo Yudens for $25? I've been trying find it in my past digests and can't come up with it. Thanks!
