I've got the discs that they were sent to me on and I no longer need them. Caveat - they are untracked audio discs burnt onto Imations. Included: 4/18/1989 - Cap Center (2) 4/29-30/1989 - Miami/Orlando (1) (hybrid of two shows) 7/24/1984 - Warner Theater, DC (1) 7/28/1984 - Fox Theater, ATL (1) 8/21/1983 - Cap Center (1) Replacements - 11/4/1984 (1) They all sound at least good, something uncommon in early 80s REM recordings, and the 1989s are great. All to one home, and I'd consider an exchange for blanks but would rather trade. Hotjobs: Enter the "Signing Bonus" Sweepstakes http://hotjobs.sweepstakes.yahoo.com/signingbonus ------------------------------ From: "DCA" Subject: PCM-R300 problem Reply-To: "DCA" Date: Sun, 18 Jan 2004 08:58:15 -0500 I would like to get some input from the collective knowledge of the DAT heads... I borrowed a Sony PCM-R300, it was working fine for the first couple tapes, but the last tape I put in was not even played. I tried to eject it to put it away until I was ready to transfer it to my PC, and the machine tries to, but can not. Then, it puts "caution" on the display. I tried powering it off and back on, and rewinding or FF'ing it, but nothing works. Does anyone have any suggestions? My first guess is that it did not load right, and is locked in the mechanism. What you you guys think? How can I "extract" the tape? Thanks in advance, Dave ------------------------------ From: rombachm@gmx.de Subject: Re: Masterlink question Date: Sun, 18 Jan 2004 14:33:28 +0100 Hy, I use the Masterlink sometimes for copying DAT-tapes at 44.1 or 48 KHz sample rate. Maybe this can help. I saw when I have a tape that contains overlapping music pieces at those two sample rates (one at 44.1 K, the other at 48 K), the Masterlink records from DAT first with 44.1 K by setting itself to this sample rate. When the piece with 48 K starts from the tape, the sample rate is still shown as 44.1 KHz at the Masterlink. If you play that back from the Masterlink, no gap between the songs is there. But as I saw and heard the second song is played back in 44.1 KHz sample rate, with your so called "helium effect". Be sure to have the correct sample rate as is on the tape indicated on the unit. If you have done a copy from a 44.1 K tape and go on with a 48 K tape, it is important to stop the unit first. Insert the 48 K tape and play back, then put the unit in record-ready-mode. The sample rate should be shown as is on the DAT tape. If not, stop the unit, adjust the sample rate on the left button and check it again in record-ready-mode. Rick. PS yes i know about "laptoptapers.at.yahoogroups but, i need some help sooner than later. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
