There is a new virus going around. Please do not run any executable
sent with emails EVEN FROM PEOPLE YOU KNOW!
And turn off your preview panes if you use windows mail clients.
I got an email last night with a source address belonging to a member of
this list. The email was infected. I'm pretty sure that the email was
not sent intentionally, so be aware and scan your attachments before
opening. The sender most likely won't know he's infected until he gets
a bunch of responses.

Joe's solo (vocal/piano) performance at the Sundance Film Festival Music
Cafe last week. 40 minutes. Good, but not superb, recording.

Hey guys,
I have a pair of Earthworks SR-71s that I am selling. They are in great shape and come with windscreens and clips. I'm looking for $375 + shipping firm.
I also have a pair of SR-77s that I *may* be selling. Again, these mics are in excellent shape and they too come with the standard EW windscreens and clips. Make me an offer.
I can provide sample recordings and pics of both pairs of mics if you want. If for some reason you want both pairs I'm sure we can work out some sort of deal.
Thanks,
Dave Thoma

Paul Metzger of tvbc to play solo banjo @ Magus books Sat Jan 24th at 4
PM
Get mp3s of Metzger's banjo improvisations here:
http://www.tvbc.tv/banjo/
Judging by the mp3's, this won't sound much like banjo. It's very cool--
more like sarod or sitar. He's generally taper friendly, too. Lots to
trade for DAT or CD or ftp.

Did anyone happen to record John Medeski's recent appearance on Marian
McPartland's Piano Jazz? I'm missing the first two minutes of the show, up
to the point where John says "That was the beginning of the band, in '91."
I'm sure I can find something to trade for the missing segment.
Thanks,
Chet

Hi guys,
thanks for the help so far.
I want to stealth record - my budget is no more than $1000 max.
I decided so far to buy a used D100 (or M1) as recorder (as i don't
like MD and there don't seem to be any decent HDD recorders).
As for mics i have to decide if
a pair of DPA 4061 ($650 new)
Sonic Studios DSM-6S/L ($450 new)
or Core Sound Stealthy Cardioid microphone set (or binaural??) ($250
new)
Any suggestions or better tips?
Once recorded i will transfer them digitally to my PC burn them to CD
and from then on just listen to my recordings via my stereo.
If anyone has any of the Equipment for sale, well i am here ;-)
Do i also need a preamp?
Jan
