Regards Antonino ------------------------------ From: Antonino Giannetto Subject: Re: Sony PCM-M1 power solution Date: Sun, 25 Jan 2004 17:22:00 +0100 Try To use Powerex 2200 mAH AA Size Rechargeable NiMH Batteries, they are GREAT!!!! You can run a 120 m tape without a problem. http://www.nimhbattery.com/mh-4aa220.htm http://www.mahaenergy.com/store/item.asp?idproduct=206 See the offers that include the charger. The only real alternative to Powerex are the Lithium batteries, but they are single use and very expensive. I normally use Powerex, limiting the use of expensive Lithiums to the most important, very long recordings. regards Antonino ------------------------------ From: Keith Bode Subject: Re:TY CD-R's Reply-To: t.tunakebo@verizon.net Date: Sun, 25 Jan 2004 08:28:50 -0800 > > >BEST BUY is still selling fujifilm TYs in 50 pack spindles; on sale this >week for $6.99 after rebates; picked up some myself at local store, of >course there were none on the shelves, and i was told by a clerk that they >were "all out", but i was able to find about 30 spindles of them up front by >the register despite the clerk telling me that there were none up there! > Was there fine print on the blue wrapper that said "Made in Japan". If there was, you did score TY's. If there was fine print that said "Made in Taiwan", they are not fuji's. If they are fuji's, I'll be hitting my local Best Buy shortly. Keith ------------------------------ From: Meurglys3@att.net Subject: The Original Electric Factory in Philadelphia Date: Sun, 25 Jan 2004 18:54:50 +0000 HELLO HEADS, ESPECIALLY PHILADELPHIANS MAY I PRESENT A MYSTERY THAT BEGS TO BE SOLVED. WHERE ARE ALL THE SHOWS FROM THE ORIGINAL ELECTRIC FACTORY IN PHILADELPHIA? FOR A PERIOD DURING THE LATE 60'S & EARLY 70'S NEARLY EVERY HEAVY ROCK HITTER PLAYED THERE, YET SO FEW SHOWS HAVE EVER SURFACED AMONG COLLECTORS & TRADERS? I'M TALKING HOLY GRAIL HERE! THE DEAD, DEREK & THE DOMINOES, FLOYD, NEIL, AND THE WHO ARE OUT THERE. THIS HAS GOT TO BE JUST THE TIP OF THE ICE BERG. I FREQUENTED THIS VENUE UNTIL IT CLOSED, AND SAW THE LIKES OF THE FLOYD, TRAFFIC, PROCOL HARUM, ROD STEWART & THE FACES, SAVOY BROWN, GRAND FUNK, ARGENT, SEALS & CROFT, AND OTHERS. SADLY, I MISSED MANY OF THE GREATS, SINCE I GOT A LATE START IN BEING INTRODUCED TO THE VENUE. DOES ANYONE KNOW THE REAL STORY BEHIND THIS MYSTERIOUS DEARTH OF LIVE MATERIAL FROM ONE OF ROCKS GREAT GOLDEN AGE VENUES? DID EVERYTHING VANISH WITHOUT A TRACE ALONG WITH THE GUY FROM THE IRON BUTTERFLY? NAY, I SMELL A RAT, PERHAPS EVEN A CONSPIRACY! S.O.S. CALLING ALL DAT HEADS, ROCK HISTORIANS, ROBERT STACK, AND LARY MAGID. LET'S GET TO THE BOTTOM OF THIS "UNSOLVED MYSTERY" AND RECOVER THESE LOST GEMS. "THE TRUTH IS OUT THERE." "JUST GIMME SOME TRUTH." I CAN HANDLE IT. TOM ------------------------------ From: "DRider" Subject: Re: Is Susan Tedeschi Taper Friendly? The only brands I'm sure of are Plextor and TY. The problem with buying TY branded discs is that most of them have only a lacquer overcoat. Not quite strong enough for my taste. The printable ones are OK, but more expensive and harder to find. Plextor CDs have the hard clear overcoat like Kodak and Mitsui. (and like the TY Fujis have) Sony, TDK and Fuji can no longer be counted on to be TY or even self-made. All three made good CDs in Europe a couple of years ago, but I don't think that's the case anymore. I'm eager to hear what others have to say on this subject too. ------------------------------ From: Eric Swanson Subject: FS: DA-P1 Date: Sun, 25 Jan 2004 11:55:12 -0800 (PST) I am selling my DA-P1. It has low hours, and in good shape. Comes with 4 pin cable. $700 firm... I closed my paypal account, so any other payment method will work. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! About $25 for 25-disc spindle unless they're on sale. I suspect they are TY since = they're made in Japan and have the frosted center ring. -Chet =====Original Message===== From: Meurglys3@att.net Subject: TY CD-R'S Date: Fri, 23 Jan 2004 17:34:11 +0000 Hello Heads, Anybody have a grip on what name brands are currently being manufactured = by TY Japan? This is a page for my trade list, but I have also tried to get down all of the band banter for each show - mostly between song talking by Roger or Dave. Trades are welcome - preferably DAT. I hope this page will be a helpful tool for the PF community. Hop on over and check it out: http://home.bellsouth.net/p/PWP-lifeisonlyadream peace, Travis __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! SiteBuilder - Free web site building tool. I was wondering if somebody could tell me what a reasonable asking price for the following equipment might be. I'm at work so I can't be exact about everything but close enough for somebody to give me a good idea. Schoeps VMS5U Schoeps MK4V - pair Schoeps KCY cable... the long one Schoeps A20s suspension - pair Schoeps ORTF bar Schoeps big round windscreens - pair Schoeps regular/non suspension clamp Schoeps 10db pads...I think! Anyway, all of this stuff is a few years old but has only been used four or maybe five times. It's perfect. I just don't have time to do it anymore and have held onto it way too long. If anybody has any suggestions as far as price and a route of sale is concerened, I would appreciate it.
