yes, the outside label clearly states "made in japan"
more evidence:
- the surface of the discs have "made in japan" printed on each one
- the spindle is the recent 2 piece sealed top used by fuji on the TYs (also
used by??)
- the discs have the frosted looking inner ring characteristic of TYs
- the serial number written in the inner ring is 13 alphanumerics, also
characteristic of TYs
- the serial number is not written straight across though like all TYs used
to be - it is written in semi-circular fashion - but i *think* new TYs have
it written this way
i am 100% certain these are TYs :)
> If there was fine print that said "Made in Taiwan", they are not fuji's.
if they had any indication of being made in taiwan i would not have bought
'em!
> If they are fuji's, I'll be hitting my local Best Buy shortly.
look over the packaging carefully, your local BB could be selling the taiwan
ones, who knows?
another tipoff that i have seen to avoid buying a taiwanese spindle is that
the spindles are markedly different from the japanese ones
not only will they say "made in taiwan" somewhere, but for those of us who
can't read the smaller print, you can see the surface of the discs right
through the clear top (unlike the japanese packaged spindles), and you can
see how the discs are very different looking, plus they say "made in taiwan"
clearly on each disc - also, the taiwan spindles have an extended bulge out
from around the base for some reason (?)
all of this packaging etc could change in month, week, day, etc so look over
what you buy b4 you buy it, if you care about what kind of discs you're
getting
also - the sale i mentioned was last week - i do not know what is on sale
this week

And any of the following Portland July 97' shows @ Think Good Thoughts, the
Full Moon Party or Crystal Ballroom.
This was my first Zen show & the mushrooms I took are calling for me to hear
it again. I don't even think the band has a copy of this show so if any
kind Portland/Eugene tapers out there do, I'd love a copy & would be more
than happy to pass it along to the boys. My list is below. thanks for any
help. Chris
