From: William Mitchell <handsonsound@earthlink.net> Subject: M-Audio Firewire 410 and Peak? Date: Sat, 31 Jan 2004 09:51:14 -0800 Ok all you smart people out there......... I've just purchased the M-Audio Firewire 410 interface to use with my G3 IBook for the purpose of transfering DATs and CDs to hard drive thru Bias Peak 4 . TheFirewire 410 and Peak work fine with the mic pres and the line in ( the mic pres are better than i thought they would be), BUT I can't get Peak to see a digital SPDIF input. I've been thru all the settings and preferences for the Firewire 410, Peak and the IBook....with no success. This system needs to go out on tour next week........without being able to pass a digital signal, I'm dead in the water. Anyone else have this problem ? Any solutions? thanks, Will

From: "vikas Bhatia" <vikas@breakerfall.net> Subject: Nebula - taping policy Reply-To: <vikas@breakerfall.net> Date: Sun, 1 Feb 2004 00:50:26 +0100 I checked BTAT and it says they allow audio and video recording. Is this still current? Do they allow soundboard access? And who is the person to talk to if we are taping at the venue. Any info would be helpful. Thanks in advance.
From: Masato Kato <mindgame@m21.alpha-net.ne.jp> Subject: ISO: T.M. Revolution Date: Sun, 01 Feb 2004 11:40:51 +0900 Did anybody have T.M. Revolution at OTAKON2003 in Baltimore, MD last August? Masato Kato <mindgame@m21.alpha-net.ne.jp>
From: "Ty Barrett" <tylendel@barrettworld.com> Subject: ISO toby lightman tapers Date: Sun, 1 Feb 2004 03:28:47 -0500 i'm a fan of a relatively new artist named Toby Lightman, and i'm hoping to get a few of her live shows recorded, & i can pay for taper tickets if needed. here are the dates coming up: 2/13 New York,NY Crash Mansion (w/ Antigone Rising) 2/19 Pittsburgh, PA Hard Rock Cafe (w/ FeFe Dobson) 2/20 Buffalo, NY The Continental (w/ FeFe Dobson) 2/22 Crowbar State College, PA (w/ FeFe Dobson) 2/24 Philadelphia, PA TLA (w/ FeFe Dobson) 2/25 Farmingdale, NY Downtown (w/ FeFe Dobson) 2/26 Allentown, PA Crokodile Rock Cafe (w/ FeFe Dobson) 3/1 Washington, DC 9:30 Club (w/ FeFe Dobson) 3/2 New Haven, CT Toad's (w/ FeFe Dobson) 3/3 Boston, MA Axis (w/ FeFe Dobson) with the help of another fan I was able to get permission to list Toby on the etree archives (you can check out the show of hers that i recorded there if you'd like -- http://www.archive.org/audio/etree-details-db.php?id=8937 ) but since she's the opener on all dates, any taping would probably have to be stealthed. i would compare her voice to Fiona Apple or Alana Davis, and she's been greatly influenced by Ella Fitzgerald. please contact me if you're interested and could help out! thanks, -ty
From: "Mr. Smith" <senorsmith58@yahoo.com> Subject: for trade: new 70s tapes Date: Sun, 1 Feb 2004 06:46:02 -0800 (PST) Dear friends, some new 70s rock tapes have recently surfaced and these are now up for trade. New source: Led Zeppelin - 03/22/73 Essen, Grugahalle (transfer from 1st generation Uher reel > PC) Recorded from the floor, approx. 30 ft. in front of the stage External mono mic into SABA cassette recorder Sound quality: VG mono This has an uncut STH, the entire Heartbreaker encore and Plant's parting words "Thank you very much Essen, you been very nice, see you again in a few years". While taping the concert, the recorder ate the BASF C-120 master tape so unfortunately the middle part of the concert is absent. The master cassette was transferred to an Uher reel tape in spring 1973 and has then been tossed away. What is now available is a fresh transfer from the 1st generation reel. 102 mins. total - for trade on DAT and CDR. Longer tape: Led Zeppelin - 04/20/77 Cincinnati, Riverfront Coliseum (transfer from 3rd generation Maxell cassettes > 2CDRs) Other than what was is commonly available (43 min. fragment) this new transfer is just missing NQ, TYG, GTC, BCW and the Stomp. SIBLY cuts out early and MD is fragmentary (6+ mins. approx). 99 mins. total - for trade on CDR. Some non-Zeppelin for trade: Deep Purple - 02/12/1972 Essen, Grugahalle (new alt. source) 1st gen Uher reel > PC (fresh transfer) Sound quality: fair mono Rory Gallagher - 11/06/1973 Dusseldorf, Rheinhalle 1st gen Philips reel > PC (fresh transfer) Sound quality: decent mono Jethro Tull - 02/02/1973 Frankfurt, Festhalle cassette master > PC > CDR (CDR obtained from the taper) Sound quality: fair stereo I'll consider a couple of trades for Led Zeppelin rarities in return (uncirculated alt tapes or upgrades to what is currently available). Please get in touch privately if interested in a trade. Regards, Brian P.S. The abovementioned recordings are for trade only. I won't supply any of these to bootleg companies or their go-betweens. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! SiteBuilder - Free web site building tool.
