I guess it all comes back to the infamous argument of to "tape hoard", or not "tape hoard", that is the question.
As someone that has a number of rarities, I have happily shared them, and there is a real good reason to do that. If something ever happens to my copy, I have a backup out there!
As for Sharing The Groove, I love it. I don't have time to trade as much as I used to, and Sharing The Groove allows me to trade at my own pace, seed my shows, and get shows by the same artist in return. Likewise, there have been some really nice rarities of either stuff that is uncirculated, or nice pre-FM SBD stuff that continually pops up by artists that you never see out there in the trading pool, or perhaps haven't seen up to that point....so I definitely feel like I get rarities and then some in exchange for my rarities that I offer up. My love of music includes my love of sharing the music that I enjoy with others, and for that, I love Sharing The Groove. I enjoy the dialogue that is posted about a show that I have posted, or that I have downloaded. Sharing The Groove is what it should be, music fans interacting about, and sharing the music that they love.
I have seen shows of mine wind up on Ebay pre-STG, but who cares? I have better things to do with my life and time, than being the "karma police". Everybody is going to do what they are going to do, and that is none of my business.
I'm just in it for the music...and Sharing The Groove fits me just fine!

Time to clean out the closet - I'm eBaying a
Beyerdynamics MV-100 stereo mic
preamp. It's a great box, provides phantom power for
XLRs, outputs in mini
and RCA plugs. Here's the auction:

Thanks!

Subject: FS: Complete D7 Rig

I am looking to sell off my complete rig here. There are about 10 hours of
recording time on the machine. I had it refurbished once when I bought it
because it was having issues with tape loading. Since then it has worked
like a charm for me getting wonderful results. I have most of the necessary
things for soundboard patches as well. I also have a nice little case that I
made for my gear that houses my dat, power cable, batteries, blanks, and
some cables. I would like to get around $650 for the whole lot or best
offer. Serious inquiries only please. I can provide references, anebay ID
with 100%, and many pictures as well.
(1) Sony TCD-D7 Dat Recorder
(1) Sony wall outlet charger
(1) Sound Professionals (SP-CMC-4) Microphones, alligator clips
(1) Sound Professionals (SP-SPSB-1) Slim Battery Box, adjustable bass
roll-off and level controls
(7) Sony Premium 60m DAT tapes
(8) Sony Premium 90m DAT tapes
(2) 15ft XLR > 1/4"
(1) 1/8" stereo > 1/8" stereo
(1) RCA L/R > 1/8" stereo
(1) 1/4" stereo > RCA L/R adapter
(2) 1/4" > RCA adapter
(2) 1/8" > RCA adapter
(2) RCA > 1/4" adapter
(1) dual 1/4" stereo > 1/8" stereo
(1) Turtle Beach Montego II SPDIF Sound Card
(1) Pasternack Enterprises 7 Pin to RCA DIO Cable
The only thing that I am willing to seperate from the lot is the battery
box/mic set. Otherwise I want to only sell as one lot.
Thanks,
Justin

At All Tomorrow's Parties in the UK I'm definitely taping Mogwai, Shellac
and Sonic Youth, for the rest I'm pretty open to requests. So if anyone
has a particular fave they'd like to see taped, let me know and I'll try
to accomodate you. Line-ups (I'm going both weekends):
http://www.atpfestival.com/events/line_up.php?event=8
http://www.atpfestival.com/events/line_up.php?event=9
Equipment: Marantz EM-8 or CSC > bb > JVC XM-R70, Marantz PD670 or Sony D8
(I might be able to borrow some equipment from a friend, hence the
alternates).
Cheers,
Martin
