Cracker has allowed open taping for a long time. Bring your stand!
Video I'm not sure of and SBD is out I believe.

Looking for some recent Notwist shows from the current tour , particularly
the 2/14/04 show at Dante's in Portland. I was there but decided not to
tape as the venue's sound was not too great

I think the way around this "shipping copyrighted materials" is to mis-label
the items. ie - label each disk things like "me-playing guitar in my
bedroom, my cat falling onto the floor, etc." - or no label at all - just
disk 1,2,3,4,etc.
I mean, they can't actually be playing the CDs unless there is something on
them that would make them suspect.

American Music Club are touring for the first time in almost ten years, here
are the dates for this tour (additional dates may be scheduled for later in
the year) due to the mecurial nature of the band, this might be your only
chance to see them "live", however.......
2/29/04 Great American Music Hall San Francisco, CA USA Noise Pop Festival
3/7/04 The Fine Line Minneapolis, MN USA
3/12/04 El Rey Theatre Los Angeles, CA USA
3/19/04 Bigsby's Austin, TX USA SXSW - Undertow Showcase - also performing:
Glossary, Brent Best, Anders Parker, South San Gabriel, Jesse Harris; AMC
goes on at 12am
3/20/04 Red Eyed Fly Austin, TX USA SXSW Misra/Undertow day show - also
performing: Anders Parker, Centromatic, Mendoza Line, Dolly Varden, Chris
Lee, Glossary; free show - AMC goes on at 5pm
3/26/04 Old Town School of Folk Music Chicago, IL USA 2 shows; 7:30 and 10
3/30/04 Bowery Ballroom New York, NY USA tba
4/1/04 Crocodile Cafe Seattle, WA USA
** you should be able to tape these shows, AMC are usually taper-friendly.
Hopefully their new management are as well. I am especially interested in
hearing hi-quality recordings from the SF, SXSW and NYC shows.**Also of
special interest - the South San Gabriel and Centromatic sets at AMC's SXSW
dates. if any of you are in the Austin area, I strongly recommend that you
try to make these two shows as this is a GREAT double-bill. **

I have never actually taped them with permission, but I think they are
ok with it. I saw a mic stand up at one of their shows before, and I got
permission to tape Camper Van Beethoven last year.

they probably watch IP addresses that submit more than some number X
requests within some timeframe Y and then block that IP if the thresholds
are exceeded. That would explain why no browser would work from your
computer, but other computers are fine.

I have an Sony SBM-1 I may sell.
It is unmodified good shape original box, case and
manual.
I have seen them on Ebay for as high as $400 and as
low as $339.
If I get an offer of $350 I will sell it.
Thanks

I have some DAT's I am missing cases for. All are Sony DG90P tapes. If
anyone has any empty DAT cases, I need about 6 cases. If you have the
original Sony cases I would be very happy.
Please reply off list.

Wife wants to get tix for A Perfect Circle.....trying to decide which of the
following venues has the least amount of security hassles at the door:
Wachovia Arena Wilkes-Barre, PA
Patriot Center Washington, DC
Giant Center Hershey, PA
I've heard that the Patriot Center has started wanding people as well as
being reserved seating....are either of the other two venues any better?
How about GA?

Subject: Creative Nomad Jukebox 3 Mac Compatibility?
Date: Fri, 20 Feb 2004 02:59:24 -0500
Hello, dear DAT friends.
Just a quick question for anyone familiar with the Nomad Jukebox 3 (either
the 20 or 40 gig version): The device is supposedly Mac compatible. However,
I can't get my G4 iMac (OS 10.2.8) to recognize the deck using either the
USB or Firewire interfaces. My first gen Nomad Jukebox pops up immediately
in iTunes (v4.2) when I jack it in, but no dice with the Jukebox 3. Are
there any Mac users out there who have either been able to or failed to get
the Jukebox to work?
A quick email to my personal account (taperjake@hotmail.com) is fine; no
need to clog the list with an answer to a fairly obscure question.
Thanks!
Jake
