Nothing sucks like pulling out an old favorite show on CDR that has gone bad. michael
From: csnmusic <csnmusic@optonline.net> Subject: Looking to Trade Date: Sat, 28 Feb 2004 19:35:42 -0500 Looking to trade, because it's fun. I have an extensive list. Recent additions include McCartney & Brian Wilson from the Adopt-A-Landmine Benefit in 2002. Not great sound but interesting to hear them duet on God Only Knows and Let It Be. One show I am looking for is an excellent recording of Dan Fogelberg from Santa Monica in 1976 (radio broadcast). I have a copy with pretty poor sound. If you're interested, send me your list and I'll send you mine.

They present test results for a large number of CDR /DVD discs as well as burners. Not tremendously well organised, but useful.
From: "Karl Schneider" <Karl.P.Schneider@Rose-Hulman.edu> Subject: Mini Mixer Recommendations Date: Sun, 29 Feb 2004 17:51:58 -0500 I am going to try and attempt Gary Davis's "Super Seven Stereo Soundboard" technique at an upcoming show. I am looking for some recommendations for the mixer to be used with this. The one Gary recommends is much too large to get into the venue with, if you know what I mean. The band is fine with soundboards, but the security people usually never have a clue, so the size is important to avoid such problems. I found a couple mixers that would do the job by Rolls, but was wondering if anyone else had any other recommendations. The design criteria would be small, battery operated, stereo, and 3-4 inputs, with a pan and volume controls a strong plus. Thanks for your input, it is really appreciated. Karl Schneider
From: "Martin Klingmeyer" <martin@hidingplace.net> Subject: Monitoring Levels on a Digital Camera Date: Sun, 29 Feb 2004 18:11:12 -0500 How about an SPL meter from Radio Shack and some (electronic in-line) pads ? Lets say that you know the AVLS starts to kick in when the SPL of the band is 88 dB. The SPL meter says the band is 98 dB. So you just pop in a 10 dB pad. Alternately you could adjust the gain on the Beachtek. Hope this helps. -M > I am looking for something that I can add into my setup that will allow me > to see the levels of the signal that is either coming from my microphone > or Audio Adapter. From: "Bob Griesel" <sundance@olywa.net> Subject: RE: Mini Mixer Recommendations Reply-To: <sundance@olywa.net> Date: Sun, 29 Feb 2004 15:49:03 -0800 Samson has some nice "pocket" mixers that use batteries. Just search on the brand name to find facts and dealers. Also, Markertek.com has some cool DC powered devices that will run fine on 12VDC even though 24V is recommended for maximum headroom. Check out these "Stick-Ons" models: ST-MX3, ST-MMX3, ST-MLX3, ST-LMX3. These are all mono mixers, two are needed for stereo. The manufacturer, Radio Design Labs, also has a website with much more technical info about these devices. Up to you to figure out it they can be combined to do what you need - but they are SMALL! While you are at Markertek, have a look at their Rolls devices: MX44, MX22, MX28, MX41, MX51, MX54S, and MX56S. Markertek also carries the Samson mixers along with mini models from Midiman and Spirit. Its is a good place to see what is available. The manufacturer's websites are the best places to get complete information about a product. - Bob ``````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````` "People need celebration in their life.
