Thanks to everyone who responded to my need for a decent pre-amp.
One response was from someone who did the upgrade on the Eridol ua5 or
rebuilt them. I lost your email and would like to speak to you further.
I am still on the hunt so your help is still appreciated.
Thanks again,
Joe

posting my friends message but its for me too :)
I am in need of a DAT taper for a show in Brooklyn New York at
Southpaw(http://www.spsounds.com/) on March 18th. Brant Bjork (of Fu Manchu
& Kyuss) and the Bros feat. Nick Oliveri (Queens of the Stone Age). The
venue is open taping. I will be videoing the show. I already called the
venue and they are willing to give soundboard access for a $50 fee. My
friend and I are willing to pay the fee, and I have a ticket for anyone who
can tape it. If anyone can help please e-mail me at GrungeGuyNYC@yahoo.com
ASAP.
Thank You.
-Eric

Tapers,=20
I'm flying from the US to UK for vacation/shows in 2 weeks. Other than =
the need to take a voltage changer, I was wondering what other tips =
people have for getting their audio equipment into the UK and out. I'm =
bringing mic stand, mic, DAT deck, DAT tapes, loads of cables, video =
camera, etc. I especially need advice for the airlines and for returning =
with my gear w/o being asked to pay taxes on stuff I didn't buy there. =
Also, I am bubble wrapping my mic stand and putting it in a travel bag =
for check-in. Will this be OK? Will the XRay machines zap my music that =
I tape on the way back or should I ask them to hand inspect them? Given =
the tight security at Heathrow, will I be asked to check my gear in my =
luggage on the way back?=20
I'm bringing AA batteries for the D8 because my battery looks too much =
like a <you know what>.=20
Please email me offline if you have any advice.
Thanks,
Dave Lerner

I'd say you've got an extraction problem. Try using Exact Audio Copy
www.exactaudiocopy.de (ok, what happened to that link? My ability to read
the German language isn't the greatest) to get tracks to your hard drive vs.
using the "disc copy" or "create image file" (in Roxio). You can still use
Roxio to burn your cd's, so your $$ spent to obtain that piece of software
isn't **totally** wasted....

Anyone out there in DatHeads land planning on catching
Soul Brother #1?
Contrary to recently published mugshots, the
Gawdfather of Soul is out on bail, looking sharp as
ever and delivering the goods as he has been for the
past 45 years.
The Washington show went on like clockwork, timing in
a 1:38 mins. The last show in DC was 2:20. The band is
super tight and right on. Mr Dynomite even plays the
keyboards.
Get down & get into it with this living legend who put
the word "funk" in your vocabulary
cheers- Mike

For sale: four seats to Caetano Veloso and David Byrne at Carnegie Hall on
April 17th.
Seats are orchestra floor right, fourth row, first four seats on the
inside aisle. They were $70 each.
I'll split the cost of one of these seats with a taper in exchange for
fast (3 days tops) turnaround on a complete, unedited copy of the show.
CD extract is fine. I'm not willing to break up pairs, so find one (or
three) full-paying suckers I mean friends to accompany you.
Best rig wins. Send me info on your setup, past experience in Carnegie if
any, etc.
This should be a really special, unusual show. Drop a line if interested.
