I have a Dakota/Montana combo that I'm very happy with. With just
the Dakota you get coax S/PDIF, and two ADAT lightpipe I/O (either
of which can be set to do optical S/PDIF rather than 8-channel
lightpipe). The Montana add-on gives you two more ADAT lightpipes
in and out.

(#4) Hello All, Thursday March 18, 2004 my entire Outlook Express Email was
deleted. Addresses and all!! Anyone who had contact with me please drop me a
email so I can start up again. Addresses as well!
While I am at it I have 650 Original Master Recordings to trade for anyone
that can help me find recordings from the 1976 Deep Cuts Strawbs tour and the
Moody Blues Milwaukee or Chicago gigs from 1972. No other trades. If you can't
find those I will help anyone who wants recordings with b & p. The masters list
is from 1977 to the present. Please note the shows that are archived to cd.

I'm hoping to track down someone who taped last night's Los Lobos SXSW
set at Stubbs BBQ - if anyone taped it, please get in touch. They
supposedly debuted a bunch of new songs so this is a must have. Tons of
stuff on diverse lists to trade.
Thanks,
Dan

Hi all,
I can confirm what Luigi wrote on the problems about the official SBD
recordings available over livemetallica.com. Several of them have small
problems, normally mini-gaps between track that cause those "clicks".
These gaps are only 2-5 ms long, and not really difficult to remove and
clean using an appropriate software, but I too believe that once can
expect a clean recording for a 13-dollar download.
There is only one thing that helps, complain. Any of you in this situation
contact support and ask them to re-do and re-post the pertinent show. The
more of us that complain, the sooner they will solve the problem. It is
time they learn how to track shows with a decent software that does not
cause inconsistencies in track margins (I'd suggest CD-wave for a clean
job).
This said, audience recordings of their 2004 tour are still very
pertinent, as these SBDs are technically incomplete. The "ecstasy" intro
and the "full metal jacket" sample (before "one") are omitted, same goes
to all encore breaks ... and I am aware of at least one case where the SBD
version was "fixed" for playing mistakes (Tucson, "harvester"). The screw
up is on the audience recording, but the SBD version sounds perfect.
thanks, Joaquim

See if you can find an old Turtle Beach Fiji with the SP/DIF
daughterboard. That's what I used to until I bought my M-Audio
Audiophile USB (which is also an option).

Well I warned everyone - taped the show Friday night 3-19-04 at the Variety
Playhouse in Atlanta - have it on DAT or 2 CDR's if anyone wants a copy
let's trade - by the way - security wouldn't let me in with gear at first -
Nickel Creek played with Mindy Smith who does not allow taping (she is
excellent) - anyway I talked to Danny who runs the board for Nickel Creek
and he WALKED me to security and told them it was OK for me to tape -
security let me go get my gear and re-enter and never even checked my bag
and on my honor would not allow me to tape Mindy (I didn't, it was very
tempting - all I had to do was hit that stinkn little button!!) anyway I
used my Sonic Studio 6 mics on the Lite Guy head about 8' up straight into
my D100 about 40 feet from the stage - it came out very good.

Pulled out a few older Dead Kennedy's tapes and have been listening the last
few days. Those words could have just as well been written yesterday, as 20
years ago. I have one thing to say: WHERE ARE YOU, JELLO
BIAFRA!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bedtime for Democracy, indeed!
