Agreed; the main purpose of bulk-erasing a tape is to "fix" one that was written by a misaligned deck (so that the tracks are laid down wrong). (Copy the data first, of course.) It also helps on data tapes, which some audio decks can have trouble with. At this point, though, it doesn't seem to matter; I have what is clearly more than a lifetime supply of new blanks. Date: Sun, 28 Mar 2004 22:18:52 EST Hello DAT-heads, I'm looking for tapers of the following groups. King Diamond (primarily from either 1987 or 2003), Mercyful Fate (primarily from 1981-1985), and Quiet Riot. If anybody has any let me know. Thanks. ------------------------------ From: "John M" Subject: Looking for Izzy Stradlin 2000 Japan tour DATs or GNR Date: Mon, 29 Mar 2004 02:19:27 -0500 Looking for DATs/clones of that Izzy tour, or any GNR DATs in general. Thanks, John ------------------------------ From: "Hanno Bunjes" Subject: Chris Brokaw (again) Date: Mon, 29 Mar 2004 10:37:20 +0200 So sorry that one got messed up! Here it goes again: Hello gang, Chris Brokaw (www.chrisbrokaw.com) is embarking on a solo tour of Italy, Spain and Portugal. Aside from playing a great semi-acoustic guitar, he writes breathtaking songs & instrumentals. You might have seen him playing with or opening for Evan Dando, or with Come ...... i cannot recommend his concerts strongly enough. In my experience he is taper friendly (i taped him several times) including SBDs where possible. Would love to get some tapes from this tour. Feel free to write me for Brokaw trades too. I'm selling a Lunatec V2 that I purchased new from Sonic Sense on 9/2000. Through the years it has some minor scratches and some of the letters have worn off the faceplate (which seems to happen often since Grace Design doesn't have any left to replace it with). I just this month had it serviced and recalibrated by Grace Design and they assure me it performs to spec. I have the receipts from that servicing. I'll sell to the first person that gives $600.00 + shipping. I'll be putting this preamp on eBay in a couple days if no offers come. Date: Mon, 29 Mar 2004 23:15:20 GMT Hey Folks, Looking for some advice from tapers who are using, or have used, a Denecke PS-2 in conjunction with a pair of MBHO 603/k200N microphones. To preface my question, this is my current set-up: MBHO's > PS-2 > Sony SBM-1 (mod.) > PCM-M1. I'm wondering how long the 9v battery in the PS-2 lasts for other tapers. Over the weekend I used two identitical (Duracell m3) batteries, one for set one and one for set two. The first set ran a full hour and thirty minutes. I checked the PS-2 and the low battery LED was light, so I changed to a fresh battery. The second set only ran a bit over an hour but I noticed that toward the end the right channel began to diminish and the low batt LED on the PS-2 was lit. From what I can tell, the battery ran low and the PS-2 could only power the left mic. I find this to be quite strange that not only did one battery last longer but that on the Denecke site they claim a minimum power time of 4 hours "depending on microphones used." So what are people using to power the PS-2 out there? Is mine just defective or do the MBHO's drain a lot of juice?? any help on my situation would be great.
