Hey,
Did anyone tape or trade for Belle & Sebastian lately?
I'm looking for recordings of their recent American,
European and Japanese shows (older shows as well).
Lots to trade. Please see my list at
www.gemborys.org/trading
Thanks!
Brian

Respect? How is posting something you taped on STG not showing you "respect"?
All that person did was make the show easily available to more people. He
didn't sell it, and assuming we are talking about a band that allows taping and
trading, what is the harm? In the end, people that download the show will burn
it to CDR, and it becomes "audio"...the only difference is the transmission
mechanism was the Internet rather than the mail. Rather than trading it to
others via the mail and discs, he put it out on STG so that MORE people could
have access to something you created. And it sounds to me like a fair number of
people were interested in getting it, and are probably enjoying the hell out of
a recording you made. Personally, I find that to be gratifying, not a sign of
disrespect...I love it when I tape something, post it somewhere as a bittorrent,
and 300 people download it and tell me they think they are great tapes, and it
makes me happy to know that they are enjoying the music.

Why would you not want it to be accessible to the world? Why keep it to
yourself or only to the limited number of people that you can trade it w/ via
the mail? Isn't this all about sharing what you have thereby encouraging others
to share what they have?

Hey Heads.
I need to find a reliable San Francisco Taper for the David Bowie show this Friday. (key word is reliable-- it will probably require a 3 hour tape, maybe a 2nd one for the opening act)
Summer Craziness going on in my life and scheduling this summer was real madness for me. 3 of my favorite artists are on the road, and I'm planning on taping an awful lot of shows, but i have to work it all around a freelance job and 2 weddings.
One of the shows that fell by the wayside is at the Berkeley Community Theatre, this Friday April 16th. The Polyphonic Spree is opening & tickets were very affordable. I paid $118 for the pair from the Bowienet presale. I'm looking for a reliable taper who can afford that (or better yet a pair of tapers!) and send me a clone.
Now funds are tight and all my music friends tell me to just put the tickets on the eBay and let them help pay for some other shows. Frankly, as a music fan I am pissed that concert tickets have become the new "commodity" replacing stocks and comic books as the latest "double your dollar" investment. I don't want to be part of that crap, even though I go to so many shows.
I scored 1st Row balcony and I really want these to go to someone who can get a nice tape out of it. I've never been to the Berkeley Community Theatre before, but I'm positive from the layout that the front row balcony is the place to be, and I really wish I were able to make this show. (I've tried everything, but i just can't be there)
I've got to sort this out by Tuesday evening or I have to put them up on eBay.
For a taper I'd be happy to pay the Fed-EX cost to send the tickets and include a blank for the clone if you can cover the cost of the tickets. I can even send some older San Fran Bowie shows if it will motivate.
Thanks for your time

I have a perfect pair of 4022's with the XY/ORTF mount that I would like to
trade for a pair of CMC6's & MK41's with active cables. The DPA's are
perfect and one year old. Stored in a heavy zip lock bag when not in use,
includes all boxes & manuals. I am also accepting offers for the mics
without a trade, thanks.
