From: "Chris" <ctc3m@virginia.edu> Subject: Hiss reduction Date: Wed, 14 Apr 2004 18:07:35 -0400 Hey everyone I taped a show out of a board that had really low levels but I thought I eventually got it so it looked ok. Anyway when I go back to listen there's a really loud hissing noise that makes it totally unlistenable. I've been using Cool Edit Pro 2.0 to try to get rid of the hissing while keeping the original music as pure as possible. I've had best results using the noise reduction tool but the only problem is after I do the reduction it adds a tinkling kind of noise to the background almost like chimes or something. Anyway I was just wondering if anyone out there knew any better tools or methods to reduce hiss without adding more annoying noise or if the tape is pretty much junk. Thanks!
