my best results in dealing with the drunken goons have been whenever
possible, get them horribly stoned.
usually, the proper genetics will silence even the most savage beast.

Hey gang --
I'm ready to part with some things. Haven't used any of it in many moons.
Here's the list:
1 set of Sound Pro CMC-16 mics w/ battery box and accessories $145
- Shure caps
- size similar to CMC-4's, no clips
- batt box is stripped, no case; easier for stealthing (small)
- comes with SP hat for stealthing
- mics have rubber shells; designed to fit rubber mounts inside hat
1 Sony PCM-M1 $360
- used in field and sparingly for transfers '00-'03
- has had minor load problems recently, and I would highly recommend getting it
serviced before putting it back into full-time use; likely just a realignment
needed
- includes Sony 7-pin I/O cable (active, from Oade)
1 Sony TCD-D7 $190
- used in field and sparingly for transfers '99-'03
- major load problems recently, service before use a necessity
- includes Sony 7-pin I/O cable (passive)
Also figure actual shipping cost via USPS, and I'll take Paypal if it makes a
difference.
If you'd like more info, please ask. I'm not out to rip anybody off. I expect
the maintenance needed on the M1 to be fairly simple, but the D7 may (likely
will) require more. I hope the asking prices above are fair given I expect the
new owner of each to have to make an initial investment bringing the decks back
up to excellent working condition. I'm just not willing to put the effort and
money into the process now given I don't ever use the decks and I'm living on a
grad student stipend. If you're interested in any of the above, drop me a
line. Thanks.

This is a stealth show--Not open taping. Taping security for FoW is
venue-dependent.
I'll also consider taping a show in the tri-state area with my rig: DPA
4021's > PSP3 > SBM-1 mod > M1
My most recent master is Robbers On High Street, Evan Dando, and
Fountains of Wayne at Roseland Ballroom 5/7/04 with above rig. Second
source of same show is KM-140's > SX-M2 > M1
Thanks,
Tom in NJ

While I can't understand why people pay a lot of money to see a band and
then proceed to talk all the way through it, it is their right to do so.
I think the conflicts discussed recently are the best argument for NOT
allowing taping in shows. It seems I always attract the talkers. I try to
move away but in a packed crowd its not possible.
Generally I've found the people who talk a lot during shows really are
more interested in hearing themselves talk and they usually leave the band
area. But I am taping in small clubs which is a different scene than the
big arenas.
That said, I would sure enjoy trading the Matt Valentine/Tower Recordings
reels I have for more...
cheers
Jim

Hi all...
Sorry for the slightly off topic post, but before
going digital, I used a Sony D-6, which I recently
found out no longer works. Sony told me they couldn't
fix it either. Does anyone know of a place that
repairs old analogue decks?
Thanks
Chris

Hi Fellow music lovers,
Andy Summers is playing at the Baked Potato Jazz Club in LA once again this
coming Memorial Day, Monday, May 31st. I am unable to go to his shows
because he only plays in Europe and LA and unfortunately, I do not live
anywhere close to those locations.
Andy is well known for his brief conquering of the world with the super
trio - The Police. Lately he has been playing live with another - not so
well known super trio including Ernest Tibbs on bass and Bernie Dresel on
drums.
He has a new cd out of all originals entitled "Earth And Sky" with Vinnie
Colaiuta on drums. I highly recommend picking up this cd. It is a mixture of
Jazz, Rock, & instrumental grooves. There are not many new cds coming out
with this level of talent and energy. Check out www.AndySummers.com
If there are Any tapers in LA who could help, please email me and I will
gladly send you enough cash to cover the evening. Andy does not play that
often and it is worth a lot to me to hear his shows. Any help is greatly
appreciated.

Many, at shows I go to, aren't even aware that "they" are there... %^)

I was wondering if anyone out there has an extra lying around for the
CM-300's & would be willing to part with it?
I could either pay or trade you some shows. Please contact me off list if
so. Thanks, Chris
