Hi all,
Been trading for a year or so now, and would like to start getting into the
taping side of things, though I'm not sure where to start. Is there an
accurate, updated site that has reviews and comparisons of taping equipment
and mics, or better yet, a FAQ that can help a newbie out?
Thanks in advance.

Anybody is trading DVD with wav files (or shn's - flacks)?
I'm planning to create a group of people dedicated in mastering what they
have ready on HD into a DVD-RW., creating a sort of permanent vine among
members
this is a great way to spread music overseas saving lotsa of money for cd
blanks and postage

I am looking for this show on VHS or DVD. I have a VCD copy but it plays with
flaws on two different players in different spots on each. Anyone have a
player that plays VCD's with no problems that is into MV and wants to convert it
to DVD? I would prefer to find a DVD source straight from TV. This VCD is
superb quality so it must exist.
Thanks,
Wes

Did anyone else get a free subscription to Relix from
Terrapin Presents? It's the April/May issue which
seems a little late but it's free.

Sorry, that statement is just flat out wrong. Simply purchasing a ticket does
not give someone the right to act like a complete ass. That's like saying that
just because someone has bought a movie ticket they can talk on their cell
phone or loudly point out all the plot of the movie before each scene. If just
purchasing the ticket gives someone the right to do whatever they want, then I
have the right to turn around and duct tape their mouth shut, or whap them
over the head with a mic stand. Let's see who comes out on top then!!! Loud
talking is one of the reasons that as I get older I appreciate folk and
bluegrass shows a lot more; people come to actually listen, instead of talk
about their day at work and how badly their lover is treating them blah blah
blah.

Subject: Need advice on a analog preamp

Hey Folks,
I came across a Sony d10 recently, and just got a 12 volt battery pack
for it from ProDigital, so power is no problem now. To the folks that
gave me advice on locating a battery,Thanks!!!
My next venture, is finding a good analog preamp, or a preamp with rca
inputs.
The d10 only has analog inputs, so I am looking for a good preamp to
power my Gefell mics.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

'Sup, brothas.
So... I got a <<bunch>> of taper tix in the Phish mail order lottery. I have
4 to 6/19 SPAC, 2 to 6/20 SPAC, 4 to 8/10 Boston, and 4 to 8/11 Boston. I'm
looking to trade any or all of these, in groups or potentially as singles
(considering the right seats, of course) for some real tasty close seats. If
any of you out there got some great 15th row or under tix in the lottery (or
get them when they go on sale this weekend) and require a tapers' ticket,
I'm your man. And afterwards, perhaps we shall FTP or B+P some tapes if the
mood is right...
Thanks,
Jake

I just put them on ebay starting at $700 per capsule, I've pulled some
miracle tapes with these caps and would really llike to see them stay in the
taping community, they are listed as separate auctions just in case there
are buyers out there that wanted just one, say video guys, anyways, they are
a matched pair--The auction will start tomorrow... I am selling so that i
can buy a new 2.8 canon lense and try to further that hobby...So, let me
know if you have any questions or want me to pull the auction for a private
sale...They arer in mint condition!! Thanks!!!

Subject: re: Sony repairs
Date: Thu, 13 May 2004 10:18:43 -0500
Ok, was more curious then anything on this below link, so I entered in a
bunch of model #'s that I could scrounge up:
>good site to book mark for sony:
Entering in a "WM-D6" comes up with a Flat Rate of $84 for repairs
Entering in "TCD-D3" for model #, shows repairs to cost $157 (Flat Rate)
Entering in "TCD-D7" for model #, shows repairs to cost $157 (Flat Rate)
Entering in "TCD-D8" for model #, shows repairs to cost $156 (Flat Rate)
Entering in "TC-D5M" shows a price of $510, saying this unit falls under the
"Exchange Program", in which you get a factory re-furbished machine in
exchange for what you have.
HUH/WHAT ?!?
My D5M used to fall under the "Flat Rate" pricing at my local Sony Service
Outlet (once upon a time AND when there was a local outlet for me), but the
next time my trusty old D5 craps out, I guess it's gonna stay that way 'cuz
ain't no way I'm paying that kind of dough to still have a working analog
recorder!!
Good thing neither of my decks need servicing as I'm only "looking" for now
....... :-)
