Obviously there was no intention of taping...These type of people suck, this
is why tapers don't get tickets anymore...Jake, tapers tickets aren't that
high demand anymore, people get soundboards, a lot of tapers aren't doing it
anymore and you're making it hard for everyone who wants to!!

The best line of the whole message is "And afterwards, perhaps we shall FTP or B+P some tapes if the mood is right..."
Awesome. I'll give you my killer seats, and if the mood is right, I can do a b&p for you too? Perfect. Should I send my wife over to pleasure you as well?
Thanks. You're great

<Awesome. Did you have any intention of actually taping the show?
W Boswell and other interested parties-
I ended up with 20 tickets total (5 to 4 shows), which is FAR FAR more than
I expected to get in the lottery. Of all the lotteries I've entered in the
past, I've only ever come away with a total of a single pair of tapers'
tickets. I only requested so many tapers' tickets so that I guaranteed
myself at least a pair or two; I did not expect to get hung up with 18. I
certainly plan on keeping 1 for myself for every show, to answer your
question of whether or not I intended to tape in the first place. I just
figured that I ought to share the wealth with some of the people out in
DAT-land who may have not been so lucky in the lottery and need a taper's
ticket; don't think that I don't have plenty of friends who'd love a seat in
the auditory sweetspot right at the soundboard/tapers' section, but I figure
I should try to get some tickets out to tapers themselves. If after a couple
weeks with nothing coming to fruition on this trade, I was planning on
offering to trade the tapers' tickets for anything in a comparably good
seat, not just a close one.
So, if your concern is that I'm just some dude trying to play the system and
"scalp" away these tapers' tickets, the answer is NO. I just got way more
tapers' tickets than I expected, and am trying to maximize everyone's fun-
if I can get some great seats for my friends while hooking up a deck-head
with a tapers' tick, that's obviously preferable to getting some decent
seats for my friends while hooking up a deck-head with a tapers' tick. A
trade will always include negotiation, and it's logical to start high and
work down, particularly when the other party receives the same result in
either outcome.
I guess the subject may have been misleading; I included all the
I apologize if my initial message came off as shady or sketchy. I ensure you
that my intentions are honorable and friendly. Surely, I owe a bunch to the
taping community at large, and my friends and many others owe us even more.
I would not abuse the privilege, as I have distaste for bootleggers and
such, and appreciate how much of an influence the taping community can have
towards getting non-commercial/mainstream music to a wider audience.
Happy taping and trading,
Jake

I'm selling my DA-P1 and battery pack. The deck has about 150 hours on it
but was seviced by pro digital in sept. 2003. It's seen under 50 hours
since the service. I'm also selling a battery pack to power the deck. The
battery pack will run the deck for 8+ hours. I'd like to sell these to one
person but I'll split them if no one takes both. Looking to get 800 obo.

TGIF y'all,
I am going to a show tonite that has free headsets for hearing impaired.
I know this has come up before, but I can't remember the answer, I've
searched the archive, but had no luck.
Is there any good way with just a recorder, cable, and/or mic to tap
into that system - with or without the headset? I am assuming they are
wireless, so the best scenario I can think of is to get a headset and
set the mic next to it. Is there a better way? Do they ever have
physical sound feed jacks?
Any quick comments on the subject would be appreciated.
Sorry for the late question, but I just found out.
Thanks,
Dave

Great clip...funny.
Me, personally...I enjoy hearing the audience. Rowdy or somber, the
audience is 1/3 of what makes single-point, live recording so exciting to
me...along with the talent and environment. The total of these is the
honest documentation of what was experienced at the live event.
My advice...let go of trying to control people and look for the value in
what the audience is adding to the recording...including the drunk assholes.
Besides, asking a loud person to be quite is like throwing fuel on a
fire...the proof is in zach's clip.

Here's an oldie but a goodie on chatty concert goers....I'd love to know
who the taper was. It was from a Lilith Fair show in 1997 (Washington
State I believe). I found it originally when transferring the DAT :-)
