I admit that I wasn't expecting too much but her band sounds great & Donna might sound better now than then. Now, I'm sure there's those of you who are laughing or could care less but for anyone interested I'll do as many B&P's as possible, I really think most of you would enjoy it. Her band has a sort of New Speedway Boogie/Cold Rain chug & grind mixed w/ a little heartfelt gospel & reggae feel thrown in for good measure. Contact me off list, thanks. From: "Gregory Morgan" <cardinalchunder@hotmail.com> Subject: Audience at Shows Date: Sun, 16 May 2004 13:45:54 -0700 After reading about all the negative comments about audience experiences, I thought I'd make a comment on a good concert experience. The venue Bimbo's 365 in San Francisco; the performer Joan Osborne. I went with a friend of mine and found that the venue was incredibly easy to get into with equipment - not even a pat down. I positioned myself in the sweet spot and waited for the show to start. I never thought this would happen to me but one of the most beautiful blonds I've ever laid my eyes on came and stood right in front of me. I thought oh no she and her friends are going to talk through the show. Instead what happened was that they were completely silent thoughtout. It gets even better. The blond was dancing away in front of me and, despite the fact that there was 4 feet of space in front of her, she was dancing right up against me. Yup, I got a lap dance. What do I do I wondered? Do I forget about the tape and try to get her number? What if she bumps the deck and stops the tape? I decided to just enjoy it and came out with a killer tape and the most memorable taping experiences I've ever had, although I still wish I'd goten her number. Cheers, Gregory _________________________________________________________________ Check out the coupons and bargains on MSN Offers! http://youroffers.msn.com
From: ognelson@uchicago.edu Subject: Several card catalogs for sale in Chicago area Date: Sun, 16 May 2004 17:07:02 -0500 I have several card catalogs I need to get rid of. Anyone interested? I posted about these a couple years ago, then moved, buried them in the basement, and forgot to post again. There was interest then, hope there still is. You'd have to be in the Chicago area and have a vehicle. The four smaller ones (15 drawers each) are about 14" tall x 18" deep x 33" long. The large one is oak, pretty old, and heavy. Has 60 drawers. Stands 5' tall (including oak base) x 43" wide x 19" deep. I find them very useful for storing DATs (35/drawer), cassettes (24/drawer but takes two in height), CD's (several dozen), floppies, video tapes. I'm going to post pictures and details in the next day or two, but wanted to see if there's even any interest. If not, I'm probably going to put them out at a garage sale next weekend and see if some antique hunter will jump on em. Please email me if you think you MIGHT be interested in one or several. Olaf
From: "Jeff Frank" <jsfrank@ripco.com> Subject: Re: concert behavior Date: Sun, 16 May 2004 21:30:45 -0500 Holding up a cell phone at a show has nothing to do with being "sooo cool". It's about having a friend who you share the love of the band with and wanting them to get a taste of the moment. >From: Stefan Morosky >Subject: concert behavior >People with cell phones at concerts make me sick. They hold their cell phones up in the air like they think they're sooo >cool.Morons.
