I have 3 racks which hold 374 DATs each (11 rows). The finish is Baltic Birch.
I'd prefer local delivery/pickup but I will ship them.
Price for all 3: $200 plus shipping.

Have this DAT system - but the A/D converter isn't working.
The DAT itself works fine - as does the MU-Z1 digital microphone.
Includes the AC adapter/battery charger (battery no longer good),
the remote control, and the manuals for both the reocrder and mic.
Great for spare parts if you already own one.
$75 plus shipping. Located in Brooklyn, NY

We have a problem with the infamous "Ghost Tape" also referred to as
the "Load Error" problem
Sometimes the D8 will appear to record an entire tape and when it is
rewound and played back the tape is totally blank, with no ABS or
anything.
This has happened to us using HHb and Sony media, but we recently heard
a rumor that the Maxell blanks are less prone to "Ghost Tape" than the
Sony's due to the hub locking mechanism. "All Maxell data cartridges
feature Maxell's unique Saf-T-Lock- a hub-locking mechanism that
assures proper tape tension and prevents misthreading during the
initial loading stage"
I had previously thought that it was an issue only with D8 and D7
recorders and that it can be prevented by rolling a little sound onto
the leader, then when you need to start the recording, hit play, get a
level, pause it and go into record mode without hitting stop.
but now this rumor about the maxells comes along. . . is it just
marketing hype? Has anyone had the "Ghost Tape" happen on a Maxell
master??
I figured the list could use a good DAT-related question!!!
thanks for your responses.

Hey Now All!
Please get out and check out the Humboldt County
band Kulica! They are very Taper friendly and if you
get to the venue early enough and ask for Jason or
Curtis, you might be able to get in if you promise to
send me a copy of the show.
I am trying to archive this swiftly up and coming
band so any and all help will be great. If you have to
pay to get in I will send you blanks to cover your
cost.
They are currently in the Heartland of the States
and will be touring as much as possible. Please check
out their web site at < www.kulica.com > for tour
dates.
Thanks again and enjoy,
Peace, Michael

OK--i'm out for good. taping was fun and i met so
many cool folks in the four years i've been doing this. i've never
regretted buying and selling all the rigs i bought and sold. well, maybe
when i sold the 41/vms02ib rig--my first true love. but anyway i can't do
this anymore. kids are getting older and require more of my time. i just
don't have the time anymore for shows--to justify keeping a rig. and
besides, i'd prefer to sink more money into my photography rig. i've
agonized over this for a short while. it's time to do it.
so, here is what i got for sale:
Schoeps mk4v's--matched pair sold here in the us. schoeps verified that,
based upon the serial numbers, the caps are matched. i think i have a buyer
but i'll offer these up in case. $1000 plus shipping.
Nbox--comes with active cables. It's in excellent to mint condition. used
only three times. $1000 plus shipping--they sell for $1100 new. this one
is basically new--and available now.
Oade Modified SBM-1--bought new from the oades for $600. comes with
original box and everything that's in it. also used only three times. $550
plus shipping.
Accessories--$100 plus shipping
schoeps a20s shockmount
schoeps stc ortf bar
schoeps sg20 ( 2 )
vark bar
i just figured out that you can run the 4vs in the sg20s mounted to the
outside studs of the vark and get very close to 17cm--a solution to running
4vs ortf.
for the 4v/nbox/modsbm-1/access, and custom rca cables made just for the
nbox/sbm-1.--$2500 plus shipping. i'll sell this as a set first--if not,
i'll break it up.
Lunatec 316--i might just keep this one just because of it's rarety. comes
with oade 12 volt battery and charger, and two power cables. recently sent
into grace for a clean bill of health. a few things fixed and adjusted.
i'll throw in a pair of audio magic presto II xlr>rca cables. $675 shipped.
all prices are pretty much firm. basically, anyone who buys this stuff is
buying mint or damn near close to mint condition. i take great care of my
stuff. i'm not desperate to sell. i can sit on this stuff for as long as
it takes to sell it for what i want--what i'm saying is no haggling, or
lowball offers.
oh--i have one of those really nice manfrotto stealth stands ( 3373 ). just
bought it and it's new--never used. you guys know what they go from
bhphotovideo. i can't use a stand like this for my camera make me a
reasonable offer. i think that's it.
one last thing--someone is using my rig for a comp. i can't ship anything
til i get that stuff back.
