Thanks, Steve Randolph ------------------------------ From: "Dan Lee" Subject: Phantom Power on Y-split, single microphone Date: Sun, 23 May 2004 17:12:48 -0400 Hi, I have a question about using phantom power for a Y-split microphone. The setup is: 1 Shotgun mic -> XLR Cable -> Y-splitter -> 2 inputs to TASCAM DA-P1. Basically, I want to utilize both left and right tracks at different pre-amp settings for possible clipping prevention, and just to not waste a track. The question is, if I phantom power my mic via my TASCAM, does it have any ill effects on the microphone, or cables, or audio at all? Does this even work? Theoretically, if my crappy first year circuit theory is correct, it should work just fine, with no significant difference in power consumption. Does anyone have any experience with something similar and could enlighten me? Thank you, -Dan ------------------------------ From: "Steve Mew" Subject: ISO: Edgfest 08.25.97 Date: Sun, 23 May 2004 18:35:17 -0700 Looking for some shows that I attended before I started taping. Sets I'm looking for are Silverchair, Collective Soul, Tea Party and I Mother Earth. The sets were taped by Ryan Fugger rfugger@unixg.ubc.ca - (i don't think the links work anymore) and the source i think was CSB>D8. lots to trade masters and otherwise. thanks -s _________________________________________________________________ Tired of spam?
