Life moves on. Family and work have left me with little time to get out and
record shows, so its time to part with the gear. Everything below has been
well-maintained. As stated below, I can email you pictures of anything
you're interested in.
Oade m248 Pre-Amp - The Legend. Unit has recently had internal battery
replaced and circuitry upgrades by Doug Oade. XLR inputs/RCA outputs. Serial
# 1037. Comes with Oade Powersonic wall smartcharger. $800
Mod SBM-1 - stock Sony SBM-1 a/d with the following upgrades by Doug Oade:
(1) Mic pre-amp circuits replaced, allowing for higher input level before
overload, and lowering the noise floor, producing a cleaner recording with
less hiss. (2) The second is a Digital I/O upgrade which provides a coax
digital output cable. We use the 7 pin cable end to provide a passive 7 pin
to Coax "y" adapter for use with the D3/7/8 or in the second Digital I/O
port on the SBM-1. The end result is a sturdy 7 pin to RCA "y" Digi I/O
cable and a standard coax output on the SBM-1. (Upgrades cost $275). See
http://oade.com/audiocenter/upgradesbm1.html for more info. Asking price
$600.
Denecke PS-2 - this is a rock solid, dual channel microphone power supply.
Adds stealth and portability to your rig. (From the Denecke website: The
Dcode® PS-2 is a low noise, Phantom 48 volt microphone power supply. Runs on
one 9 volt battery and has enough power to run high current microphones. The
small size, light-weight, rugged construction and very low noise make the
PS-2 a natural for powering microphones feeding DAT machines, radio mics,
tape machines, and mixing panels. Long battery life and a bright LED low
battery indicator ensure that the microphone is properly powered during
your recording session.) See http://www.denecke.com/prod04.htm and scroll
down to the PS-2 for more info. Unit new is $150 ... asking price $100.
Tascam DA-P1 - a sturdy portable DAT deck with a feature set you'd expect
to find on a full-sized studio centerpiece. The DA-P1 features include a
switchable 48V phantom power, built in limiter with 20 dB pad for confidence
in recording without worrying about clipping, SCMS free recording, SPDIF
I/O, and quick charge battery system with a 2 hour play/record time. Of
course it can handle recording and playback at 48, 44.1, or 32 kHz. The
DA-P1's mic/line inputs and phantom power are very unique; it's like taking
the power of the mixing board with you out on the job. DA-P1 comes with
Tascam cable for running into external power supply (list $45), as well as
wall power cable. Sony DAT head cleaning tape included. Asking $800.
ECO-Charge 6V, 5Ah/20HR battery: battery comes in zippered case w/ belt
loop; cable included is the DC cable for Sony D7/D8/sbm-1. I have used it to
run either a D8 or more recently the mod-sbm-1. Comes with ECO-Charge Model
SC-61 smart charger. Great battery. Asking $80.
SoniCase Deluxe - 4 shelf model. This is a wonderful bag for all your gear.
Includes adjustable padded shelving system. I have used it for the m248,
mod-sbm-1, DA-P1, all batteries and cables. See
http://www.sonicsense.com/sonicase.htm for more info. Asking $100.
Pictures of the specific items available upon request. I will ship any way
you prefer. Cost of shipping will be the cost of shipping. No more, no less.

I rarely post tour schedules, but Yo La Tengo is playing some unusual (for
them) places in the next two weeks and I'm looking for tapers who can make
the shows. I'm taping them in Dallas.

June 5 Stubb's - Austin, TX
June 6 Gypsy Tea Room - Dallas, TX
June 8 Juanita's - Little Rock, AR
June 9 Young Avenue Deli - Memphis, TN
June 10 Euclid Records, St. Louis, MO (at 5:30 PM)
June 10 Mississippi Nights - St. Louis, MO
Thanks,
Kenneth
