From: GaoBest@aol.com Subject: ISO George Harrison shows Date: Tue, 1 Jun 2004 10:46:45 EDT Isn't the '74 Houston show a normal audience recording (TC-152 and mics) - the one Mikey T made. Or is there also a legit soundboard of this show? I feel so clueless all of a sudden. Now I'm curious. I can't offer this but bwt: New Order 2-14-87 Sydney, b/p on cdr x Mike In a message dated 5/31/04 10:59:15 PM, DAT-heads-Request@datheads.phish.net writes: << From: TRANEHEAD@aol.com Subject: ISO George Harrison shows Date: Mon, 31 May 2004 14:37:51 EDT i had a pretty good soundboard tape of the houston(?) show from 74 and a decent seattle(full show)... now both lost. anyone out there got these?? thanks, GG >>

The following link explains it all: http://www.cdrfaq.org/faq07.html#S7-6 Basically, CD-ROM "sectors" can hold 2352 bytes of data - all of this is used for Audio data, but only 2048 bytes is used for CD-ROM data (the rest is used for error correction etc). 21 minutes == 94,500 sectors == 184.6MB CD-ROM == 212.0MB CD-DA 63 minutes == 283,500 sectors == 553.7MB CD-ROM == 635.9MB CD-DA 74 minutes == 333,000 sectors == 650.3MB CD-ROM == 746.9MB CD-DA 80 minutes == 360,000 sectors == 703.1MB CD-ROM == 807.4MB CD-DA 90 minutes == 405,000 sectors == 791.0MB CD-ROM == 908.4MB CD-DA 99 minutes == 445,500 sectors == 870.1MB CD-ROM == 999.3MB CD-DA Regards, Dave.

From: csnmusic <csnmusic@optonline.net> Subject: Music File Too Big For 80 Minute Disk Date: Tue, 01 Jun 2004 20:15:28 -0400 First, I would like to say thanks to everyone that responded to my question regarding problems burning 79-minute disks. Pursuant to one person's suggestion, I upgraded my software (NERO) to the latest version and that seems to have solved the problem I was having. A new question - one person was kind enough to send me a bunch of information that also addressed problems associated with writing on CDRs. The material indicated that the ultra-fine Sharpie can damage the disk surface and was therefore not recommended. Has anyone experienced that problem? And if the disk is damaged, would you know right away? Thanks.

From: KindTaper@aol.com Subject: a strange Joy Division request Date: Tue, 1 Jun 2004 22:58:26 EDT Sorry for the non-DAT subject, but I have a favor to ask of someone: I purchased the 4 CD "Heart and Soul" boxset a few years ago when it was first issued and not domestically released. For some reason, my set was shipped with two disc #4's, and by the time I noticed, the company that makes the set has gone bankrupt and I was stuck. I presume that the American issue is the same, and if anyone has this set and would be willing to make me a disc three, that would be excellent. I have a few JD rarities as well as the out of print "Here are the Young Men" on DVD that I can offer you for your trouble. Also, I will make the "Here are the Young Men" DVD as a freebie for the first three people that reply. If you are interested, write back with your name and address in the e-mail. If you don't hear from me, then you know they were spoken for. The disc contains the movie, which is supposedly all of the JD live footage that exists, along with 3 UK TV appearances. Thanks, Wes Kindtaper@aol.com
