I don't know why, it just stopped supplying power. A >quick multi-meter test shows VERY minimal power coming through the >supply. Any ideas? I'm assuming I need to buy a new supply, but what and >from where? I don't want to pay Tascam $140 for another one. If you are using ni-cads on that supply, they may be suffering from memory effect. It's not easy to cure that, except if you use a supply that provides such thing. You may try depleting the supply, until it reaches 1v per cell, using a resistor. Then charge it again. Sometimes that cures the problem. Quite likely it will not, as that is something you should have done since the beginning. That is using the batteries until completely depleted (1v per cell) and then recharging again. You can replace the batteries quite easily, using individual cells. For that you will have to open the case you have now and solder the cells in series until you get to your voltage. If you can't do that you better buy another battery. But watch it: buy NimH batteries this time, not ni-cads. There several suppliers on the Web, just do a Google search. You may try LiIon batteries, used on DV cameras, but I don't know what's the voltage of your supply or the current the DA-P1 needs. LiIon do not support high currents. Good luck! It will need some editing to get rid of the commentary but there are some cool interviews to keep. I've had the satellite hook up for a while but to get a really strong signal had to climb on the roof yesterday and place the mini dish there. We live in the Mountains but down next to the Winooski river so I had to get it high up to clear the ridge line, well worth it. If you subscribe it comes thru your Internet also. ===== Make Tapes Not war Casey __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Friends. Fun. Try the all-new Yahoo!
