Date: Thu, 17 Jun 2004 16:04:31 -0500 Hello, I'm looking to purchase a cable (optical or coax) to transfer from my Sony D100 to my computer. (I could be way off here, but awhile back, I thought at one point seeing a cable that would be able to do both an optical out transfer and be of use for patching to a soundboard??) I am also looking to invest in a good sound card as well. I was hoping I could get some recommendations; the most budget friendly options would be best. I don't know if this is realistic, but I'd like to spend less than $250 total on both items combined. Thanks in advance! :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: .:: Maria Aguirre ::. toriphilemaria@charter.net http://www.toriphilemaria.com " I've heard there's joy untold, that lays open like that road in front of me... Reply-To: "DCA" Date: Thu, 17 Jun 2004 21:28:23 -0400 Dan, I agree with Wayne, it has to be something in your PC hardware, software, or setup. What are the odds that every drive you try has the same problem? The common thread is your PC. But, to answer your question, the best burners in my experience are HP, Sony, and Plextor. I've had two 7-pin > coax cables from Core Sound and both of them are producing diginoise and/or pops on the transfers. I'm looking for something that's hopefully a bit sturdier than what I have. I'd love to be able to trade DATs, but I can't do so reliably at this point. What's considered the best (ie - most reliable) cable to use?
