Does anybody have any Mahler 8th performance that is not available on the commercial CDs? I am also interested in Indian/Roma/Celtic music. Now my HDD has the following shows (all of them are of my own recording) and it's very easy to burn CDRs. I also have many others for trade. 04-28-00 Santana with Eric Clapton (Tokyo) 2 discs 05-18-04 Tokyo Met. Sym/Gary Bertini (Tokyo) 1disc Mahler 8th 05-20-04 Tokyo Met. From: Ryan Gear <ryan@crewcial.org> Subject: inquiry about listing a show Date: Fri, 16 Jul 2004 04:07:32 -0400 Just home a bit ago from taping Dead Meadow here in Columbus tonight. (plus excellent local Cols bands Between The Devil And The Deep Blue Sea and Sword Heaven). Anyways, Dead Meadow's label/booking agent isn't too keen on folks recording them, but I thought I'd ask the band anyways. I got permission pretty easily and they were pretty down with me taping them. Not sure if protocol in this situation would be to list it/make it available to others or not. r.
From: Sean Cartwright <scartwri@rochester.rr.com> Subject: DAT tape prices? Date: Fri, 16 Jul 2004 08:15:25 -0700 Hey People, It's been quite a while since I've had to make a DAT tape purchase (stocked up heavily a few years ago). I was surprised to see that tapes have climbed back up to just about $3/tape on all of my favorite sites. Is that the standard rate now a days or am I missing the old *close to* $2 prices somewhere? Specifically, I like Sony or Quantegy (not Maxell) DDS tapes, both 60 & 90. Thanks f/ any suggestions... Peace, Sean
From: JPollQs@aol.com Subject: For Trade: Complete 2/7/70 Airplane,Hot Tuna & Its A Beautiful Day Date: Fri, 16 Jul 2004 10:27:24 EDT With another big thanks to Wilson Gub and Alan Bershaw, I can offer up another vintage show that is not in heavy circulation. This one features Jefferson Airplane, Electric Hot Tuna with Marty Balin and It's A Beautiful Day. All three sets are complete and these are great quality audience recordings for the era. If you would enjoy a trade, please send a list or listlink along. I'm not looking for any Grateful Dead, but I am interested in other pre-78 electric Hot Tuna (especially the 1976 Asbury Park SBDs that Dave Tamarkin recently circulated), late 60s and early 70s Miles Davis and any recent Rickie Lee Jones or Sam Phillips. Specifically looking for more of the recently upgraded 1970-71 recordings from the Capitol Theater in Port Chester and more of the Fillmore East soundboards that seem to be surfacing lately. I'm also into late 60s/early 70s recordings in general. I'll take a B&P from each list I send this to and as many trades as I can handle on a first come, first serve basis. These are really nice. Complete notation follows. However, there is some debate as to the accurate date of these recordings. Some say these were recorded on June 7, 1970 at Anaheim Stadium. Regardless, they are remarkably nice audience recordings for 1970, with all instruments, vocals and stage banter clearly audible. The sets are complete for all three bands. Personel information is as follows: It's A Beautiful Day: David LaFlamme - violin, vocals Patti Santos - vocals, percussion Hal Wagenet - guitar Mitchell Holman - bass Fred Webb - keyboards Val Fuentes - drums Hot Tuna: Jorma Kaukonen - guitar, vocals Jack Casady - bass Joey Covington - drums, vocals Marty Balin - vocals on ** Jefferson Airplane: Grace Slick - vocals Marty Balin - vocals Paul Kantner - guitar, vocals Jorma Kaukonen - guitar, vocals Jack Casady - bass Joey Covington - drums

Reply-To: imissmybus@earthlink.net Date: Fri, 16 Jul 2004 11:56:20 -0700 (GMT-07:00) I will be leaving for Coventry between Aug. 6>7th at the latest from Portland, OR. I'm looking for someone in the NW who needs a ride to the show only as I will be then going to NYC to tape Rush @ Radio City. You can go along if you want but not that many people have quit their jobs and have the time to do this :) My only real concern in driving cross country is that of posessing.....cough, cough...."illegal" contraband that's green & smells like prison to police officers. This in my vehicle is NOT an option unfortunately. Gas money would be appreciated but is not a requirement as I will be driving there regardless. If anyone in the NW area or on the way is interested, please contact me off list at imissmybus@earthlink.net. Thanks, Chris
