It's almost as if the error > correction is overflowing or something. I think the problem is you are burning these onto DVD-A. These are DTS-Audio-CDs and should be burned onto regular CDR as a 44.1/16 wave file. Then played via digital out of a CD/DVD player to a DTS decoding digital receiver. That should solve your problems. Check out our new Japan made Klone CDRs...if you like Taiyo Yuden, you'll love these. http://www.american-digital.com/prodsite/product.asp?p=1668&c=53&name=Kl one80MinUnbrandedSilverSpindle BWT for the shameless plug...I'll take 3 at random: Dave Matthews Band Giants Stadium, East Rutherford, NJ July 12, 2000 DTS 5.1 Sources Main Set: SBD/IEM > DAT + Schoeps mk4v Encores: Schoeps mk4v + Neumann ak40s Disc One TT [79.10] 01 [00.45] Intro 02 [08.53] Warehouse 03 [05.58] Granny 04 [02.50] Prelude To Don't Drink 05 [08.27] Don't Drink the Water 06 [06.09] Satellite 07 [04.15] Recently (On Broadway) 08 [06.51] Drive In Drive Out 09 [05.52] I'll Back You Up 10 [06.52] Sweet Up & Down 11 [15.25] Jimi Thing 12 [06.54] Crash Into Me Disc Two TT [73.43] 01 [08.48] True Reflections 02 [09.45] Grey Street 03 [07.51] Stay 04 [11.52] Long Black Veil * 05 [14.03] Two Step * Encores ^ 06 [04.03] Photo Opportunity 07 [06.44] The Maker 08 [02.24] Prelude To Watchtower 09 [08.13] All Along the Watchtower * - With Steve Wilson on Soprano Saxaphone ^ - Source change during the encores, see notes below. ============================================================ Notes The IEM/SBD source appears to have been normalized, so the levels run real hot. There doesn't appear to be any distortion but I am not a big fan of that application for a recording like this. When the source changes for the encore, give your ears 20-30 seconds to adjust. I think you'll find the 5.1 DTS surround aspect for AUD portion a good listen too. Tech Notes I used EAC in secure mode to extract all tracks at 100% no reported errors. Cool Edit Pro 2.0 was used to align & synch the all 3 sources. CEP2.0 used to adjust the volume for the center and LFE channels. Surcode CD Pro DTS was used to encode to DTS. -3db was NOT applied to the rear channels. Both of the sources for the front and rear channels were left at their original levels. - Mixed by dan@am-dig.com - Shn conversion done by dan@am-dig.com 23-MAR-2004 - Artwork by dan@am-dig.com 300dpi - For best results print at the highest resolution onto glossy photo paper. While the Audio-CD standard (Red Book) hasn't changed to accommodate these new sound formats, it is still possible to go around the specification and to put a 5.1 surround recording on a regular Audio-CD. To play a DTS-Audio-CD you must connect your DVD/CD player via a digital cable (optical or coaxial) to your DTS/Dolby-Digital receiver. It is not 100% sure that your receiver will recognize a DTS-Audio CD, so the first time you're trying to playback a DTS-Audio-CD you must do a test to determine if it can. Begin with the volume very low, start the disc and rise the volume gradually. NEVER listen to a DTS-Audio-CD through the analogue audio outputs of your CD/DVD player. Burning Instructions: Burn them the absolute same way as you would burn any normal Audio-CD from .shn files.

From: JBABC0CK@aol.com Subject: Fall Leg of the Yes 35th Anniversary Tour Date: Tue, 10 Aug 2004 16:03:51 -0400 Hey Heads. Things are slow today, so this is as good a time as any! In just about a week those dinosaurs of Prog Rock, YES, will be back on the road for the Fall USA Leg of their 35th anniversary tour. The Summer leg started out slow but built some momentum and by the time they made it to the east coast they had a really stunning thing going. I hope some of you can get out there and tape! Unfortunately you still can't get permission to do this, but if you are planning on it I'd love to hear from you. If not, here's some helpful information: The shows at the end of the spring were actually longer than 3 hours! This time around they will have Dream Theater as the opening act for most of the shows, but I'm guessing Yes will still go over 2 hours on their set. Tour dates at... http://yesworld.com/ Also, the "drunks at shows" level is very high at Yesshows, so the more tapers the better (or the more drunks we get to hear). I was very impressed with politeness of the David Bowie fans at his shows this fall, but those Prog Acts really bring out the multiple $5 beer crowd.   Finally, instead of a BWT (because I will surely get those requests privately-- every post leads to that), has anyone traded for or even knows of the existence of or (better yet) taped these shows listed below? YES 07/07/00 Polaris Amphitheater, Columbus OH 07/27/00 Alltel Pavilion, Raleigh, NC 10/30/02 The Embassy Center Theatre, Fort Wayne IN 11/23/02 The Orpheum Theatre, Minneapolis MN David Bowie 09/06/97 Plaza of Nations Vancouver, Canada 09/07/97 The Paramount Seattle, WA 09/19/19 Vic Theater Chicago, IL 10/12/97 The Capitol Ballroom Washington, DC Those have been a bear to find, but I figure they must be out there! Thanks for looking, and keep those heads clean jb

From: Rbglea@aol.com Subject: Randalls Island Taping Question Date: Tue, 10 Aug 2004 21:50:04 -0400 Hi All, I plan on taping the Garage Rock Festival this Saturday at Randalls Island. Have never been there before, and would like to hear from others who have taped any of the recent festivals there. How is security getting in (do they check bags)? Where's the best spot to tape from (how's the sound)? CIA, Rob
