I am purchasing a mac dual g5 and wanted to know if anyone knows if that
computer has a reliable digital soundcard that does NOT resample. It has
optical in and out on the unit. If it is not a straight digital built in
card, what pci-x card can I use for the mac dual g5?

Sorry for the lack of DAT content, but does anyone out there of a program
that will allow you to convert a PAL authored DVD, menus and all, to NTSC format
without having to re-author the DVD? Or if that's not possible, does anyone
out there know of a good brand of DVD player that plays PAL discs flawlessly? My
hacked Apex and Cyberhome both freeze during song transitions, have audio
dropouts, etc.
Now for the offer, I will take as many people that respond. I'll send you
free of charge (you don't have to send any blanks, postage, etc. the 1/26/95 Joni
Mitchell Gene Autry Museum show. This was a nationwide broadcast of Joni
playing solo. She tells wonderful stories between the songs, and the setlist goes
back as far as Court and Spark up until songs that would be released on
"Taming the Tiger". I got a version from a trader years ago, but it had digi-noise
at the start and end of the show. I had a bootleg of the show and spliced songs
from the two shows without the digi-noise, so the disc is flawless and so is
the performance. Here is a link to the setlist and info about the show:
http://www.jonimitchell.com/Autry95.html
I'd love to hear from other Joni traders, too.
Thanks,
Wes

Am I able to trade equipment for DAT tapes? Or is that unethical? I've got a
ZA2 soundcard that I don't use that I'd like to give away for maybe 5 to 10
DAT tapes, preferrably MMW. I don't want money, just a small amount of
music.
The way how I understand it is that you aren't supposed to profit off of
other peoples music. In this case I'd be taking a loss because I paid around
80 for it used, but the tapes I'd recieve couldn't cost much more than 20
dollars.
If that's out of line, could somebody let me know?
Thanks,
Mike
WOB Tax: MMW 6.12.97 SHN or CDR if anyone wants it.

Hey all... Now that I have my full size rig outfitted a friend decided to
give me a set of his Sonic Studio DSM-6P mics for stealth recording with my
JB3. I used them last night at Burning Spear with pretty impressive
results. The only downside is the signal was too low even with the gain
turned all the way up on the JB3.
Soooo..... Now im in the market for a mini-preamp to use with the setup.
Ideally I would like something that will power the mics, has gain control,
and bass roll off. Cost is a factor so I can't afford the Sonic Studio
PA-24NJ. Does anyone know of another minipre with all those features that
is less expensive. I've not found any.
Also, does anyone have experience with either the:
CHURCH AUDIO ST-20
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=3281&item=5715804248&
rd=1
or the
Sounds Professionals SP-PREAMP
http://www.soundprofessionals.com/cgi-bin/gold/category.cgi?item=SP-PREAMP
A friend suggested that I skip the preamp route and grab a sound
professionals battery module with bass rolloff and level controls.
http://www.soundprofessionals.com/cgi-bin/gold/item/SP-SPSB-1
Anyone have any experience with any of these or suggestions of something
else I should try?
Thanks in advance.
Stay Kind,
Dana
