Date: Wed, 25 Aug 2004 07:10:58 -0400 I have lots of hobbies and not enough money. I wish to get a high quality telescope so I will be "downgrading" my recording rig. Currently I use my Mini-Me (with USB) with my Vaio Laptop and VxPocket. I want to sell the Mini-Me and get a less expensive pre-amp/A-D. I used to use a Zefiro-Inbox a couple years ago. Whats out there these days in the $200-$300ish range? Do I need to spend a little more? I am also open to doing a trade/sale if someone is interested in upgrading. The Mini-me has been babied as I do with all my equipment. I dont have a sale price yet... so please dont ask. First I need to find what options exist before I calculate value. If you want a clue... I wont be "giving it away". I will certainly attempt to establish fair market value for my Mini-me if you need to get an idea of where I am going with this. Thanks in advance!!! Date: Wed, 25 Aug 2004 10:30:41 -0400 Hello Gang, I know this topic has gotten a lot of attention on this NG, but I can't help myself. The last time I checked, the consensus was that if you could get CDR media that was manufactured in Japan, you were better off than than product made in Taiwan. I have an enormous amount of archiving to do, so the cost difference between Mitsui (Audio Grade) and Maxell is a consideration. I can get a cakebox of (50) gold faced Maxell "Music" CDRs from a local Sam's Club for $12.00. These Maxell discs have "Made In Japan" printed on them. My Sony CDRW33 stand alone deck recommends using the "Consumer Audio" type of media . These Maxells run about 1/2 the cost of the comparable Mitsui. With the amount of archiving I have to do, the cost difference would be about $150.00. Should I just bite the bullet and spend the extra $$ for the Mitsui, or go with the Maxells? Sorry for the repetition... Thanks Lots, RJM ------------------------------ From: "Joshua" Subject: go tape Ministry (if you've got the stones) Date: Wed, 25 Aug 2004 08:56:17 -0600 We will be taping here in Denver... Thank you, John ------------------------------ From: "adam robertson" Subject: creative live drive and spdif Date: Wed, 25 Aug 2004 10:26:19 -0700 hi there. i am helping a friend set up his computer so he can record his dat music to his hard drive. i bought a used live drive and compatible creative card from ebay and installed that. it seems to work inthe headphones output and the microphone input, but i havnt been able to get the dat to go through the spdif input. i have tweaked around with all the crative software quite a bit but to no avail. i did find a driver some people hacked or built themselves, since others have had problems with getting the live drive to do what they want. im jsut wondering if anyone on this list uses or has used the creative live drive. if not then any suggestions for another means of getting the dat music onto the computer? thanks. adam christian robertson ------------------------------ From: John VB Subject: ISO: Finn Brothers 2004 shows -- especially Minneapolis!
