Hello,
I'm seeking anyone around here that would have taped
Muse on the recent Cure's Curiosa festival, or even
any era (Showbiz, Origin Of Symmetry, Absolution) from
all countries. I expect preferably recordings made
with high end microphones (CSB, OKM II R, DPA, Sonic
St... ), and DAT.
Would love to set up a trade. Just ask for my list in
.txt format.
Thanks a lot!
Jonathan

hi,
i've got a spindle of 50 CDrs, random brands but all
reputable, that i'd like to find a home for. a lot of
them are audio CDs that I burned for a couple of car
listens (that i have archived in FLAC elsewhere), some
are duplicates of FLAC data CDs. many, if not all,
are my masters that haven't made it into the trading
pool yet.
the only catch is i don't have the time to list them
all -- you'll just have to trust me that there are
plenty of gems in the bunch!
here's a sampling of artists included in the bunch:
radiohead
lyle lovett
ween
suzanne vega
herbie hancock
chuck prophet
phish
p*funk
spiritualized
and many, many more
drop me a line if you're interested. they're yours if
you can paypal me shipping + whatever a new taiyo
yuden (japanese fuji) spindle costs at best buy.
yesterday, that price was 13.99. not sure how much
shipping is, though.)
peter

Subject: Nice rig for sale - AKG 414 TL-2's, Oade and more (long)
Date: Sun, 5 Sep 2004 12:07:49 EDT
After much deliberation, I have decided it's time to find a new home for my
taping rig: AKG 414 TL-2's>OadeM248. Some of the tapes I have made with this
rig are well known and traded:
-Sonic Youth, Roxy, Atlanta, GA 6/3/98
-Phish, Greek Theater, LA, CA 10/29/98
-Blonde Redhead, 40 Watt, Athens, GA 1/26/99
-Pavement, Echo Lounge, Atlanta, GA 6/23/99
-Yo La Tengo, Variety Playhouse, Atlanta, GA 9/23/00
-Guided By Voices, Variety Playhouse, Atlanta, GA 5/16/01
-Modest Mouse, Variety Playhouse, Atlanta, GA 9/25-26/01
-Ryan Adams, Variety Playhouse, Atlanta, GA 9/28/01
I just don't use it enough to justify hanging onto it, and I'd rather sell it
on here than e-bay. I would love to sell it all to one person, but I will
split it up, so if you see something you're interested in, e-mail me and we'll go
from there. This equipment is all 6-7 years old, and has been well cared for
and moderately used. Everything is in great condition.
Here's what I have for sale. If you are seriously interested, I can send you
pictures:
1) Two (2) AKG 414 TL-2 microphones. These are a step above the
AKG 414 B-ULS series. They provide nice, bright, high end and exceptional
clarity.
This is a matched pair that comes in a special hard case with upgraded
shockmounts. They can do Cardioid, HyperCard, Omni and Figure 8 patterns. They also
have a 75hz and 150 hz bass rolloff. They come with 2 nice windscreens as
well, but one of the windscreens has a small crack. It still hugs the mic, though,
and could be fixed easily with a little super glue. Here is a short
description of the mics from a website:
<<The AKG 414 TL-II is a large diaphragm, transformerless condenser with four
directional patterns and a two position bass roll-off filter. Not to be
confused with any of the other C414 incarnations, this mic uses a new capsule (same
as the C12-VR) which is an attempt by AKG to recreate the original capsule
from the coveted C12>>
2) An Oade M248 preamp. This was the standard Oade preamp to the best of my
knowledge. It will provide clean 48V phantom power to 2 mics for ~5 hours, and
has RCA outputs. It comes with the auto-charger, and I sent it down to the
Oades a while ago and had a fresh battery installed. Doug Oade told me that they
can now upgrade it so you can use it with AC power, but I haven't sent it back
for the upgrade.
3) Various lengths of Canare mics cables: I have a standard set of two purple
ones that I believe are 18 feet. I then have 2 more that are 25 or 50 feet
(can't remember). These are great mic cables.
4) Oade Digital I/O cable (passive): This allows you to give a signal out of
your D-8 or SBM-1 to patch someone in or send a digital signal out to a home
deck or CD-recorder.
5) 2 Shure S-15 microphone stands and a T-bar: These are great stands, and
one has it's own carrying case. I use both stands when I want to do a stereo
recording or split omnis. You don't have to buy both stands if you only want one
of them.
6) Oodles of connectors, cables, etc. that I will throw in for free if you
buy the whole rig. I even have a clamp that you can use to attach the mic T-bar
to a balcony railing.
7) SKB flight case with egg carton padding inside: this is a top of the line,
locking case you can use to store the mics and preamp, along with your dat
and whatever else you want. It's the size of a very small suitcase and
practically indestructable.
So to recap, what I have for sale is 2 mics, a preamp to power them, 2 mic
stands, all the mic cables you could possibly need, a patch cable so you can
give signal out at a show, various connectors and cables, and a strong case to
carry it all in. Instead of asking a set price for everything, I'll tell you
what I paid for it all, and you make me an offer, for a particular piece, or the
whole lot. All you need to make this rig work for you is a DAT deck. I will be
happy to explain how it all works over the phone.
And if you buy the whole rig and live on the east coast, I'll deliver it and
set it up for you for free!
1) The Mics were around $2600 new
2) The Oade preamp was $900 new
3) The Mic cables were between $20-40 each, new, depending on length
4) The Oade cable was $125 new
5) The Shure Mic stands were $160 each
6) The cables and connectors go to whoever buys the mics or the whole package
7) The SKB flight case was around $125-150 new.
That's around $4000 worth of stuff. Make me an offer I can't refuse. Again, I
will sell it by the piece or as a package. Free shipping or delivery if you
buy it all, otherwise I can send the pieces via UPS insured, and we'll work
out the shipping costs.
Thanks,
Wes

does anyone here have copies of the SBD 12/16/94
liberty lunch show or the 7/28/94 mercury theater,
denver, colorado shows? both mine suddenly have
unexplained errors and skips that were not there a
couple years ago.
thanks
