Hey,
I need help with some recent and upcoming Centromatic shows. I botched the
August Continental Club show in Austin, I did get the Will Johnson Alamo
Drafthouse show, though I would be interested in hearing someone else's
copy.
Is there's anyone who is going to the La Zona Rosa show on Saturday night
with good equipment? I may have a ticket for you...write me
off-list...thanks..

The amazing Ghost are touring the US starting next week. I'm planning on
being at the NYC show and would love to trade for other shows, as well as
shows from past tours i don't have. Ghost are a great psychedelic band, a
rich blend of dense folk, acid rock and drone, featuring IMO the amazing
guitar work of Michio Kurihara.
cheers

Subject: ~ 500 SCI DATs--Who Wants Them?
Date: Thu, 16 Sep 2004 09:21:09 -0700
hello,
i have ~ 500 DATs; ~ 350 SCI shows. I'm not interested in keeping these
anymore. i'm not sure how best to do this. ideally, i'd prefer sell them
for a $1.00 per DAT--just to move them. if anyone wants a huge collection
of SCI DATs lmk. i'll sell them all to one person and work out the
shipping. or maybe sell according to years--96, 97, 98, 99, 00, 01, lmk
if your interested and i'll direct you to my list. i've gone through the
list and the DATs to make sure they are all there--my DATs are all over the
place.
reason for getting rid of them? it was fun collecting and listening to
them. i don't have a need for such a large collection anymore. i am
keeping my masters however.

Is anyone planning on going to this? I am particularly interested in the
headliner, Morrissey. I will have the KROQ Inland Invasion festival (this
Saturday) for trade. Anyone who is planning on taping this, please drop me a
note.
Thanks

I have a friend on a budget who wants to get a pair of DSM-6S mics from
Sonic Studios. Does anyone out there have a used pair that they are looking
to sell? Let me know.
Thanks

I've got a Tascam DA-40 that misloaded a tape and now it won't eject
it. I've opened the unit and the tape itself is still in the cassette.
Seems likehte shell is jammed somehow.
Can anyone offer advice as to how to release the jammed tape?
thanks in advance,
Jimmy

Subject: looking for a long shot

Hi all. The bands i'm looking for will be a long shot, but here goes. I'm looking for anything by these 2 Alton, Il. bands:
The Bishops
Judge Nothing
I got a random Uncle Tupelo show in trade, and they thank The Bishops for playing with them, so with that fact i'm hoping that
show might also exist somewhere. Of course I have personal reasons for this request: i'm now friends with all 3 former members of
Judge Nothing, i'm friends with a couple former members of The Bishops, and Alton, Il is my hometown!
I know both bands did tour, but i'm thinking most of their shows were either here in Alton or in St. Louis from the mid '80's to
the early to mid '90's.
Even if it's on cassette, i'd be interested.
Thanks.

From NPR
Sept. 16, 2004 -- In September 1967, an Episcopal priest named Father Fred
Coleman set up a tape recorder at The Left Foot, a church-owned teen center
in Freehold, New Jersey. He wanted to capture the music of a popular local
high school band as they played for the center's opening night. It was the
first live recording of Bruce Springsteen.
The man who would be Boss was just 17 when his band, The Castiles, first
played at The Left Foot. Admission was $1.50.
Coleman used a Sony stereo reel-to-reel deck and two microphones, which he
placed on the floor by the band. "I just knew that The Castiles were a
quality band, and I would like to maybe just get them down on tape," he
tells reporter Mark Urycki from member station WKSU.
Urycki listens in on the historical recordings and catches up with members
of the band.

Subject: ISO: Someone to transfer my Minidiscs to CD
Date: Thu, 16 Sep 2004 23:12:39 -0400
Hi,
My minidisc player broke down and I can't afford to replace it at the
moment. I have about twenty minidiscs full of shows I've taped that I would
like to get transferred to CD. I would prefer someone who can do bitperfect
digital transfers (straight transfers are fine - I can track the shows
myself). I would also insist that the person pledge not to distribute the
recordings (in fact, I would prefer if the person did not even keep copies
for themselves). I am willing to trade shows I have, trade my video
transferring services (I can transfer any video on NTSC VHS, SVHS, 8mm,
Hi8, Digital8, or MiniDV to DVD via PC - not some crap standalone
transfer), or even pay if the price if right. Please email me if interested
and we can sort something out.
thanks,
Barry
