This card works fine in Windows, and everything else works fine in Linux,
but no matter what settings I try I just get silence when I try to record.
I'm probably overlooking something simple, but I don't think I'll ever
figure it out without help. Will somebody please walk me through this?
Thanks,
Jim

RE: Stinking Lizavita
I can confirm that Olaf's recommendation to tape this band is a good one! I
had seen their name around the local venues, but never known who they were
until catching them at the Emissions From The Monolith festival this
summer....great stuff! The drummer has a very unique style of playing and
movement.....the bassist plays this huge standup and has a wonderful
tone.....the guitarist borrows heavily from the Hendrix bag-o-tricks. The
band is from Philly and allows taping.....

RE: Edirol 4-Channel Recorder
The link that Klay posted for this dosen't work.....any other info online
somewhere? This sounds potentially promising.....hopefully more others will
get into surround sound taping soon.....

RE: Hidden Hand in NYC 10/30/04
Is anyone going to be taping this one? I've got the Philly and DC shows
covered, but have yet to hear that someone is taping the NY show.....it's at
the Knitting Factory, which if I remember correctly, is one of those places
that tries to extort "union fees" from tapers, so this will have to be
stealthed in spite of the band allowing taping.....

RE: Mastodon
Someone recently mentioned that they had seen this band for the first time,
opening for Slayer, and was looking for tapes. Great to hear that these
guys are getting some big shows like this.....I've seen them a couple times
in the past few years in small club settings, thanks to the recommendation
of another taper a few years back. Hopefully this points up the fact that
it IS worthwhile to listen to recommendations and tape those obscure bands
while they're still playing the small clubs and allowing taping.....

-1 Modified Sony SBM-1. This SBM1 has the Oade line stage rebuild ($250
value) and the Coax connector in place of the 7 pin (about a $90 value
iirc). The box kix ass for mic taping or any analog to digital work for that
matter. It's in great condition, but has lost it's plastic "on" switch. This
is purely cosmetic and can still be turned on if you have long enough nails
or a toothpic. Problem can probably be easily fixed, i just haven't had the
time for it. This also comes with the original box and a very nice leather
carry case that holds a dat deck and the sbm1.
I'm desperate to move this looking for $500 shipped. Someone please buy
this, I need the money. Preferably through a money order but I'd be willing
to do pay pal if you cover the fees. Email me at Halteh3@rogers.com if you
are interested.

Anyone recorded any EJ shows lately? I'm particularly interested in the show
he opened up for Bela Fleck the other night. Eric sat in for a couple tunes
during the Flecktones set.
Have a nice day, Danny
