I already have the D/C power cable>4pin XLR and charger for the Echocharge...so I should probably go with it. Frank from Cascade also let me know about the Pro Digital unit they sell which provides 8 volts. So are there any drawbacks to using either? Thanks, Robert ------------------------------ From: rappard@dds.nl Subject: Looking for 50 Foot Wave recordings Date: Fri, 12 Nov 2004 12:23:45 +0100 (CET) Well, subject line says it all: Looking for good sound quality recordings of Kristin Hersh's new band, 50 Foot Wave, preferably with known lineage info. FLAC trades preferred but regular audio CD-Rs are fine as well. Cheers, Martin http://www.pixieslive.com ------------------------------ From: Nick Georges Subject: Re: D/C power for DAP1 (or anything) Date: Fri, 12 Nov 2004 07:01:36 -0500 try using a 7.2v NiMH RC battery. Probably two of them wired parallel. then you get full voltage + you only have to carry a few ounces of battery intead of a few pounds. A little more money, but easily put together fo $50. well worth it. ------------------------------ From: "Yousef Sheikh" Subject: ISO aiwa manual Reply-To: Date: Fri, 12 Nov 2004 14:45:54 -0000 Hi, could anyone help me out with a manual for the Aiwa XD-S1100? A weblink, scan or photocopy would be brilliant. Google hasn't turned anything up thus far. Also, I think I really need no upgrade my ECM 717 mic - but I can't really afford more than 70 UK pounds... Is there anything available (for stealthing) that would make this a worthwhile spend in terms of appreciable improvement in sound? Cheers, Yousef ------------------------------ From: "Yousef Sheikh" Subject: aiwa advice Reply-To: Date: Fri, 12 Nov 2004 17:40:02 -0000 Hello again, I've been checking out my aforementioned XD-S110 with some tapes I recorded on my D8. There seems to be a faint crackle on the right channel (though I'm not sure how much of it is in my head - maybe I've been listening a little too hard) and it seems to make quite regular glitches (maybe one every minute or so) on the left channel. These glitches aren't present in the same places when I wind the tape back and play the segment again, nor are they there when I play the tape in the D8. So... what am I likely to be looking at here - is the Aiwa picking up a problem with the D8 or is the Aiwa itself at fault? Could it just be in need of a clean or is there something more serious at fault? And if so, does anyone know how much a service would cost in the UK or even where I could get one done in the north west? I've had three years of entirely problem-free taping with the D8 and only bought the Aiwa to spare the portable's heads a little... Any advice would be much appreciated, Yousef ------------------------------ From: "Ragan Todd" Subject: ISO: Taper in Mexico City Date: Fri, 12 Nov 2004 22:44:26 +0000 The Revolution Metal Fest, http://www.revolutionmetalfest.com/ , will be held at the Palacio De Los Deportes in Mexico City, on Saturday, November 20, 2004. Ticket prices range from $100-250 pesos. If anyone's taping, I would love to get copies of any of the sets, but I'm mainly interested in the Saviour Machine and Narnia shows. Have plenty to trade, thanks. ------------------------------ From: "Tim Settle" Subject: Need Tapers for David Andrews Band Date: Fri, 12 Nov 2004 23:55:30 +0000 Hello to all, David Andrews was a former member of Calobo from Portland, OR. He now has a solo album out and is touring with a Trio and other guests depending on the city. He is very taper friendly and only would like to be asked before you set up your gear. He very rarely says no, but appreciates being asked first. With Calobo they usually allowed SBD access, but it probably will depend on the sound person. If anyone is intersted in taping or checking the band out please do!!! Support up and coming musicians. I will post tourdates below, If you can make it and will tape, please contact me about setting up a trade. He is not coming to Colorado very soon, so I would love to hear some live stuff before I get to see them. If you have any other questions and I'll try to assist. You can also go to their website at: www.davidandrewsband.com Thanks again, Tim tpsettle1@hotmail.com 11/13/04 Portland, OR. Poor Richard's Almanac Room 11/14/04 Portland, OR.
