I'm looking for any Cramps shows anyone has got. I have just started recording shows myself, so I've got some masters to trade for too (using a Sony MD and Mic...I can give more details if/when contacted). I've got over 80 shows starting back in '77 and going up til '04. I'd especially like to get stuff from 77-83, late 86-04. Big one I'm looking for is any of the Hootenanny shows. For SJH, I'm looking for any old shows ('50s), but right now I'm searching for his set from the Chicago Blues Fest (radio broadcast) on 6/2/96. Thanks well in advance, Ben bgart13(at)hotmail.com or bgart13(at)yahoo.com ...you'll need to change the '(at)' to @ ------------------------------ From: hidetaka Subject: ISO: Keziah Jones Date: Tue, 16 Nov 2004 13:56:10 +0900 (JST) Hello all, I'm looking for live recordings.(1991-2004) Please contact me. recent shows: 24/08/04 Knitting Factory,CA,USA 26/08/04 The Smell,Pheonix,AZ,USA 28/08/04 Koo's art center,Long Beach CA,USA 29/08/04 The Ground Floor,San Francisco CA,USA 30/08/04 The Ground Floor,San francisco CA,USA 05/09/04 Ottobar, Baltimore,MD,USA 06/09/04 The Chameleon, Lancaster,PA,USA 07/09/04 Theatre of Living Arts,PA,USA 08/09/04 Knitting Factory,NYC,USA 09/09/04 S.O.B's,NYC,USA (with "exit"&"wunmi") 09/10/04 Barbican,London,UK(with Tony Allen) 17/10/04 RED HOT & RIOT LIVE@ barbican,London,UK 11/11/04 Z-STAR gig@cargo,UK(support by Keziah Jones) 20/11/04 RX BANDITS gig@University of London Union,UK (support by Keziah Jones) http://www.keziahjones.com/ thanks, hidetaka ------------------------------ From: Benjamin Branch Subject: ISO: Tool shows from 2001 tour. I have recently become the proud owner of an 8-channel tape recorder (Tascam DA-38, $165, "thanks obsolescence and E-bay!"), only to realize, that I don't have 8 mics or 8 mic preamps. I can save the 8 channels for SSSS (soundboard) recordings using someone else's mics, but just for myself, I'd like to get my 3 Radio Shack PZM's going (L,C,R stereo recording) and maybe a few SM57's. These aren't great mics and I'm not looking for a great preamp! Just something that could give me, switchable, 20,30,or 50 dB of gain and not too much noise. I know I could do this with an opamp and a few "??"s, but could someone steer me towards a chip and/or circuit designed for this? thanks--- And while I don't normally go for the BWT, I'll use this space to offer my first recording made with this deck - "Phillip Greenlief and the Lost Trio perform Thelonious Monk and others" - Culver City, 11/11/04, 3 PZM's (L,C,R) plus an SM-57 on the bass amp, 1 disc. --Gary ------------------------------ From: rappard@dds.nl Subject: Looking for Japanese Fennesz tapers... The Senate might vote on HR2391 , the Intellectual Property Protection Act, a comprehensive bill that opponents charge could make many users of peer-to-peer networks, digital-music players and other products criminally liable for copyright infringement. The bill would also undo centuries of "fair use" -- the principle that gives Americans the right to use small samples of the works of others without having to ask permission or pay. The bill lumps together several pending copyright bills including HR4077, the Piracy Deterrence and Education Act, which would criminally punish a person who "infringes a copyright by ... offering for distribution to the public by electronic means, with reckless disregard of the risk of further infringement." Critics charge the vague language could apply to a person who uses the popular Apple iTunes music-sharing application. The bill would also permit people to use technology to skip objectionable content -- like a gory or sexually explicit scene -- in films, a right that consumers already have. However, under the proposed law, skipping any commercials or promotional announcements would be prohibited. The proposed law also includes language from the Pirate Act (S2237), which would permit the Justice Department to file civil lawsuits against alleged copyright infringers. Also under the proposed law, people who bring a video camera into a movie theater to make a copy of the film for distribution would be imprisoned for three years, fined or both. http://www.wired.com/news/politics/0,1283,65704,00.html Thanks! -- Regards, Mr. Klay Anderson, D.A.,Q.B.E.
