Do any of you guys have Prince at the Fleet Center - Any night - But especially Night 3? I have ass-loads to trade - Some new shows as well. Thanks, Angel ------------------------------ From: Barry Lajnwand Subject: Info for those who believe they carry some right to their work Date: Fri, 19 Nov 2004 16:22:25 -0500 I recently requested that www.easytree.org remove a torrent of my work. I know that people have differing opinions of how much right one has to something they worked on, considering that other people (most notably the musicians) donated greatly to the effort. However, this post doesn't concern that. Just wanted to make people who do believe they have a right to recordings they have made, or shows they transferred, or DVD's they authored that the policy of Eztree is to not give any weight or consideration to the time, energy, and money spent to make those recordings possible. So, if you are like me and you don't like your work being mass distributed, take note to stay away from www.easytree.org, or take other (precautionary) actions. ------------------------------ From: Seth Breidbart Subject: Re: Info for those who believe they carry some right to their work Date: Fri, 19 Nov 2004 16:26:21 -0500 (EST) Barry Lajnwand wrote: > I recently requested that www.easytree.org remove a torrent of my > work. Your work, as in you were the performer, or you made the recording? What makes it your work? > Just wanted to make people who do believe they have a right > to recordings they have made, or shows they transferred, You certainly don't gain any special rights by transferring a show. Seth ------------------------------ From: Liam Sean Kennedy Subject: Re: Info for those who believe they carry some right to their work Date: Fri, 19 Nov 2004 16:54:50 -0500 If U2 can't keep their latest CD off BT before the release date, how do you think that a taper is going to be able to achieve something more? If you don't want to distribute something, don't make a copy. As performing artists have seen, it takes only one copy to achieve "mass distribution" (before the Internet, think of "the pizza tapes" or the Band, Bob Dylan... etc.). Sean ------------------------------ From: "Steve Randolph" Subject: JGB show I am looking for - 5/13/94 Blockbuster Pavilion - Devore, CA Date: Fri, 19 Nov 2004 17:43:30 -0500 I have much to trade and can do a B+P. Thanks, Steve Randolph ------------------------------ From: Adam Smith Subject: Jon Spencer Blues Explosion Date: Fri, 19 Nov 2004 18:27:52 -0800 Has anyone recorded Jon Spencer lately or know his policy?
